In 1988 a promising filly named Meadow Star made her debut as one of the world's top racehorses in history and her best known race was when she won the Mother Goose Stakes with jockey Chris Antley on board and it took six minutes to confirm Meadow Star the victor. Shortly after winning races Carl Icahn Meadow Star's trainer announced that he would donate a portion of her winnings to a charity. In 2002 it was a sad day when Meadow Star passed away due to foaling problems but her legacy still lives on in the horse racing world today. I first read about Meadow Star in my Thoroughbred book series and I found her story amazing
