Jennifer Coolidge is 57 today. She studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Manhattan, and after graduating, she spent some time with the LA-area comedy troupe, the Groundlings. Coolidge made her first TV appearance on Seinfeld in 1993, and has had some significant television roles through the years. She has been a regular on Joey, as Bobbie Morganstern, and on 2 Broke Girls, as Sophie Kaczynski. She has also had a long list of recurring roles, most significantly on The Secret Life of the American Teenager as Betty Boykewich.
Coolidge might be best known to some film viewers for her parts in two franchises; she played Jeanine Stifler (originally known just as “Stifler’s mom”) in the American Pie series, and beautician Paulette Bonafante in the Legally Blonde films. She was an evil stepmother in A Cinderella Story and had prominent roles in ExTerminators and Austenland. One significant part of her filmography has been her appearances in several of Christopher Guest’s mockumentaries, including her role as one of the eccentric dog owners in Best in Show.
