View Full Version : This is odd...
stevea 08-27-2018, 09:10 AM In Beaver's Cat Problem, Mrs. Prentiss is played by Grace Wallis Huddle. I'd never heard of her, so I did some checking.
I found no other TV appearances. The only fact I found anywhere was on IMDB...she's the mother of actress Sue Ane Langdon (who had a lot of TV appearances, and is now 82).
Kind of odd any show would hire someone with no apparent acting experience.

I wonder if she was the real owner of Bootsy ? Maybe they thought it would be more natural having the cat's real owner playing the part even if she wasn't an experienced actress!? She really seemed to me like a lady that would have a cat! ;)
Bootsy was adorable! :)

I've had the total opposite problem with IMDb, looking up actors who have been in a lot of stuff but no mention whether they're related to a particular actor when some of the roles they've played seemed to be hinting that they are related.
Scrabjan1 08-28-2018, 12:46 PM Yeah Mrs. Prentiss really seemed to be not only a cat lover but the owner.
Wow Jennifer Aniston’s mother? Now that’s trivia! I remember seeing a very young Rob Reiner in an episode of Beverly Hillbillies. I recognized his voice but don’t think he got billing maybe he did being Carl’s son.

Young Reiner was also in color Andy Griffith episode. He worked in the Mayberry print shop (amazing all the businesses that were in Mayberry!), and Goober goofed up his service station giveaway prize by not using a line when he added up the cash prize amounts. The print shop included the totaled amount as a cash prize.

Sue Ane Langdon was in another Revue show, Bachelor Father. Maybe she pitched her mother for the role.
Scrabjan1 08-28-2018, 02:01 PM I have to check that out. I’ve seen that episode and never noticed him. I still can’t hear the blooper in Otis the Artist when Aunt Bee calls Opie Andy or Andy Opie.
stevea 08-28-2018, 02:05 PM Reiner was also in a final season Gomer Pyle. It was an episode where Gomer was to paint a communication truck to try to camouflage it. As he was painting, a group of "hippies" came up, one of them being Rob, I think. The group ends up singing "Blowing in the Wind."

Here is a really cute picture of a young Jennifer with her Mom and Dad, Nancy and John! :)

OH WOW!! That is Rob for sure!!:) How cool! That was beautiful , brought a tear to my eye when they were singing "Blowin' in the wind"! ;)
stevea 08-28-2018, 02:35 PM I wonder if that's a wig or toupee (whichever you'd call it) he has on. Yeah, that's a nice scene.
Scrabjan1 08-28-2018, 03:23 PM When I saw that I wonder how come I never saw it before. Wow Meathead had hair. Wonder how Gomer knows the words. I love how shows of that era all stuck in hippies dancing and singing. Like Dick Van Dyke, Beverly Hillbillies even the Munsters.

I know! A Marine in the Vietnam War era knowing a folk, protest song! :D
stevea 08-28-2018, 07:19 PM Good thing Sgt. Carter wasn't around! (Pyle you lamebrain you knucklehead you nitwit what are you doing singing a protest song?)

Yeah, maybe a wig! I'm sure Rob had hair than, but they did this a lot in the 60's on TV. If an actor had short hair but was playing a hippie he wore a wig to nake them have longer hair, and you really could tell it was a wig!
Like the Mosquitos on Gilligan's Island and remember when Oliver's nephew with the long hair came to visit on Green Acres ? That totally looked like a wig! :D

I know, right? :D And "Sarge " was such a redneck and " Blowing in the wind" is a protest song dealing with racism as well as anti war" !! It's really a beautiful, significant, heartfelt song!! ;)
Scrabjan1 08-29-2018, 11:12 AM So funny hearing Sgt. Carter yelling and Gomer looking so downtrodden.
Speaking of wigs how about those Dingbats in Gidget. Did they look like wigs.
