A lot of commercials and public service announcements seem to use little girls

for emotional manipulation reasons - the recent Australian government

PSA for National Missing Persons Week chose to use a father and young

daughter as the ones left behind, rather than a father and young son.

Here's the PSA i was talking about. Using a long haired girl and putting a hair

bow in her hair is also trying to get a specific reaction from the audience that

you wouldn't get with a short haired butch tomboy:
