View Full Version : Name the things that you dislike about your favorite characters
Gemini_89 08-10-2018, 11:07 AM Name personality traits, situations, or flaws that you really didn't like about your favorite characters but they are still your favs anyway. I'll start:
Jo- Can be extra mean and grouchy at times.
Tootie- Can be a little shrill and over the top at times (i.e. Natalie's dad's funeral). I get it she felt for her best friend but it wasn't her father who just died.
RetroGuy2000 02-07-2019, 11:39 PM Cindy - I don't like that she was mean to Home Run Helen. It feels like she was bullying Helen the way Blair bullied her.
Sue Ann - Sometimes, Sue Ann gets too competitive: we obviously saw this in "Running", but we also saw a hint of this in "The Facts of Love", where she talked about competing with Blair about how far they've gone, sexually. And of course she lied in "The Little Chill" about how successful she had become. These are all examples of her competitive streak showing... not always to great effect.
Blair - can sometimes get a little mean, rude, or snobby.

It doesn't to me, because Cindy thought she was getting in her comments about HRH behind her back. It took Sue Ann to point out to her that HRH was right there in hearing distance, whereupon Cindy immediately clams up. Blair was out-and-out mean girl right to Cindy's cute adorable sweet little face.

I saw that as more of just a girlfriends game. Just hanging out late on a Saturday night, after the younger girls have gone to bed, playing "How Far Have You Gone?" (coming this fall, from Milton Bradley! haha)

True---and don't forget her determination to beat Blair by getting Molly's parents back together, lol.

Same
Impressions 02-08-2019, 11:32 PM I loved all the girls, but yes, all great characters have personality flaws:
Mrs. Garrett - She can be a little loopy sometimes and shrill when she screams at the girls
Natalie - She will sometimes take her anger out on other people to get through a setback or tough time in her life, which makes her turn into an ugly person
Jo - She uses her tough girl card a lot to protect herself too much and it ends up hurting her from moving forward
Blair - Obviously she's very snobby and conceited
Tootie - Has a hard time shutting up and keeping out of people's business
Heenan Fan 02-09-2019, 02:51 AM Cindy- I didn't like the fact that she didn't stay around until the series finale
Sue Ann- See Cindy
Blair- I didn't like the fact she was a stuck-up rich b!^(h, and I couldn't afford to date her
Jo- I didn't like the fact that she looked like my dad and I was afraid she was going to kick the crap out of me
Tootie- I didn't like the fact that we were not eventually married:)
Mrs. G- I didn't like her whiney voice
RetroGuy2000 02-09-2019, 03:42 AM It doesn't to me, because Cindy thought she was getting in her comments about HRH behind her back.
So it's okay if Cindy makes comments about HRH behind her back? I don't think so.
It took Sue Ann to point out to her that HRH was right there in hearing distance, whereupon Cindy immediately clams up.
That's true, but she never should have... un-clammed up in the first place.
Blair was out-and-out mean girl right to Cindy's cute adorable sweet little face.
Isn't that better, in some ways, than stabbing someone in the back?

Haha!
Yeah, I get what you're saying. But Sue Ann is definitely competitive. It can be a good thing, and also a bad thing.

Haha, yep!
RetroGuy2000 02-09-2019, 03:43 AM Cindy- I didn't like the fact that she didn't stay around until the series finale
Sue Ann- See Cindy
I can definitely agree with those!
Heenan Fan 02-09-2019, 03:54 AM I can definitely agree with those!
Obviously, RetroGuy2000's parents didn't raise no fools:)

 Preach

That isn't what I said. You said it felt like she was behaving the same way Blair was, and I was pointing out she was not.
