View Full Version : Season 1 - "four girl" groupings
'80sSitcoms 08-08-2018, 01:29 PM Check it out, Mr. Bradley with 4 Eastland girls! Since The Facts of Life eventually focused on an authority figure and only 4 girls, it would have been interesting if this had been a show, especially since this cast features 3 Lost Girls! lol..."Bradley's Brood" :)
-
Dr. Thong 08-08-2018, 05:02 PM The Bradley Brood was the working title for The Brady Bunch.

lol, well looks like I've got a knack for (k)names!

Apparently so.
I did a little research and it was Barry Williams who said this many years back.
Whether or not its true, I can't say. But when I saw your thread title, I thought of this straightaway.

Yeah, I did a Google search and found that showing up in several results; and when you search "Brady Bunch Bradley Brood", this thread is the 5th Google result!
RetroGuy2000 08-08-2018, 06:04 PM Here's the story, of a man named Bradley
Who's headmaster to four very lovely girls
All of them had maroon clothes, as required,
The youngest one's a nerd!
Here's the story, of a school named Eastland,
Bradley's busy with four girls, none named Cohn,
There were four girls, living all together,
But Nancy's on the phone!
'Till the one day when our Bradley, this old fellow,
Told this group it was much more than a hunch,
That this school would somehow form a family
That's the way they all became the Bradley Bunch
The Bradley Bunch, the Bradley Bunch
That's the way they became the Bradley Bunch!
:eek: :lol::happyface:crazy::wave:
'80sSitcoms 08-08-2018, 07:03 PM ^hahaha, nice work
But regarding "the youngest one", don't we generally regard Natalie and Molly as both being at right about the same age? At least, in my re-worked complete series version she is.
(and come on, it's got your Julie P.! Wouldn't you watch this series?? lol)

Molly's two years younger ('68 vs '66 for Mindy), so they might be about the same age show-wise, but she is definitely the "youngest one".
(and come on, it's got your Julie P.! Wouldn't you watch this series?? lol)
You better believe I'd watch it! What made you think I wouldn't? I thought that goes without saying!
But swap out Mindy and replace with Felice... Mindy has her own show!

Ah, I see. Yeah, when I think about it, it weird me out that Nancy McKeon is 2 or 3 years younger than Lisa; I never get that impression! I guess her toughness really makes her seem a little older than she is, and then she seems to grow around Lisa's height or even taller, so it always seems to me that she and Blair are the same age.

Haha, nothing made me think otherwise, I just figured you'd have your own comments to chime in here, lol.

"ikr"? It'd be great if there were a shot somewhere in those 13 episodes where Mr. Bradley was seen with only all 4 Lost Girls!

The Lisa/Nancy age difference was surprising for me, too, as was Julie Anne's age.

Sorry, I thought my song lyrics were enough indication that I'm fully on board with a fantasy Mr. Bradley-and-Lost-Girls spin-off. I thought you knew me well enough to know that I would watch it in a box, with a fox, in a tree, near a bee, at a prom, with '80sSitcoms... I would watch it here or there. I would watch it anywhere!
You are talking with someone who has added the Lost Girls to opening credits. To someone who has edited nine videos together to give the Lost Girls credit for their work on FOL. Someone who has photoshopped the Lost Girls into scenes they were never in, to provide closure for fans.
You better believe I'd watch a spin-off featuring some/any of them!

There has to be a scene! And if not, we'll just photoshop it!
...But I'll be in and out this week and next, due to a crazy schedule.

Hahaha, yes indeed! I just get hyped up for conversation on things I love, lol.

Haha, "move over Natalie, make room for Nancy!"
Impressions 08-08-2018, 08:32 PM Good. I still don't like season 1. It's my least favorite season, followed by 9.
RetroGuy2000 08-08-2018, 10:22 PM Good. I still don't like season 1. It's my least favorite season, followed by 9.
My list, in order of best to worst, is likely 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 7, 9.

Very interesting, "Viewer" (I'm currently binging on the 1980s animated series Dungeons & Dragons, so I felt like speaking like Dungeon Master here with a bestowed title/nickname  )...why do you prefer a Beverly Ann season over a Mrs. Garrett season?

(I absolutely love the 1980s D&D series! And nice "impression" of DM!)
Mrs. Garrett missed much of season seven. Season 8 had Mrs. Garrett's wedding AND the return of 3 of the 4 Lost Girls. It gets a slight edge in my book.

Ah, thank you for sharing your enlightenment, "Viewer"...
(and funny how Mrs. Garrett's wedding kicks off season 8; you'd think it would have been the season finale of season 7)

I suspect the scripts were already written when Charlotte told the producers she wouldn't be back as a full-time cast member for season 8.
'80sSitcoms 08-09-2018, 12:54 AM I suspect the scripts were already written when Charlotte told the producers she wouldn't be back as a full-time cast member for season 8.
Haha! Now I'm picturing Charlotte spying on the writers, watching them and waiting until she sees them type the words "Fade Out" for the season 7 finale script, then going up to the producers: "By the way, I won't be back next year."
'80sSitcoms 01-03-2019, 01:42 PM Look, it's Mrs. Garrett and 4 girls! (in this "trimming" anyway, lol). Mrs. Garrett with Molly, Tootie, Blair, and Sue Ann! That would have made a very interesting show if this were "our group" for seasons 2-4...
-
'80sSitcoms 01-03-2019, 01:43 PM Or, no adult figure in this one, but here's another foursome. Imagine The Facts of Life starring Mrs. Garrett and Blair, Nancy, Sue Ann, and Tootie:

Haha, yup, a lot of blonds among "10, 12 girls" ;) (we'll never let you live that down, Littlefield)
And whoa, I just realized---those girl groupings I posted above? Each one features Blair, Tootie, Sue Ann, and 1 of the 3 other Lost Girls! Whoa!

True, but my astonishment was the coincidence that they each alternated between Molly, Nancy, and Cindy---that was pure chance!

There is actually a frame of videotape featuring Mrs. Garrett and all 4 Lost Girls!! Thanks to "The Facts of Love" a.k.a. "Sex Education"! WOW! This was so cool to notice!!
It's "The Facts of Life: The Alternate Universe"! :woohoo:

Lorimar Television 01-04-2019, 12:26 AM Haha yes that was in the lost girl season 7 intro along with this www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/attachment.php?attachmentid=235577&stc=1&d=1546575970

That weird filter you're using makes all those images look like old Polaroids. While I can appreciate the nostalgia, and it seems apropos given the era, I hope you turn that filter off next time you get some screenshots.
I suspect there may be other scenes with the Lost Girls and Mrs. G, like the one Lorimar pointed out.

I dunno, possibly, but I fear this may be "it".

RetroGuy2000 01-06-2019, 12:27 AM Awww! Very nice!
'80sSitcoms 01-10-2019, 10:42 AM Another quartet of girls! "The Facts of Life" starring Cindy, Nancy, Molly, and Natalie!
-
'80sSitcoms 01-10-2019, 11:56 AM Or "The Facts of Life" starring Sue Ann, Cindy, Blair, and Tootie!
-
'80sSitcoms 03-25-2020, 01:56 AM Molly once claimed that Nancy McKeon "replaced" her, so if that had been true, here's what "The Facts of Life" would have been like if Mrs. Garrett's 4 girls had been Blair, Molly, Natalie, and Tootie.

OOHHhhhh "Nat burn"!! haha
"the new girl"! lol
And that dang NEVER-USED piano!! (that still boggles me! SEVEN GIRLS and not one of 'em's a pianist!!)
RetroGuy2000 03-25-2020, 01:18 PM
Also: what is Tootie sitting on, in that photo?! It's not the chair!
80s Dude 03-25-2020, 01:28 PM -
Maybe that is why there was a distant relationship between Molly and Mindy then. Of course we don't really know if that developed during the first season or in the off season.
I wonder if Molly's real life father ever played that piano. Considering he is a jazz pianist.
RetroGuy2000 03-25-2020, 01:39 PM Maybe that is why there was a distant relationship between Molly and Mindy then. Of course we don't really know if that developed during the first season or in the off season.
No we don't, and I hope we learn more eventually.
I wonder if Molly's real life father ever played that piano. Considering he is a jazz pianist.
Ironically, the script for "The Girls' School has Sue Ann playing that piano, during the chaotic crowd scene. I don't think we hear it during the chaos, and I bet it would be difficult to play with all but one of your fingers injured and bandaged!
I would think they wouldn't allow anyone to touch the props, even parents of the girls.

Well done 80sSitcoms! I have to say that's my favourite combination for MRS G's girls:
SUE ANN vs BLAIR (instead of JO) and
CINDY + TOOTIE (instead of NAT)
Great choice hee hee!:D
'80sSitcoms 03-26-2020, 12:10 AM

Lol, it is, it's just the angle and how she's sitting.

No we don't, and I hope we learn more eventually
Again, there is no evidence there was a "distant relationship" between Molly and Mindy, or even anything between Molly and Mindy. That's all speculation/wishing for whatever reason.
Ironically, the script for "The Girls' School has Sue Ann playing that piano
Wow, weird!
