It was the way that Denny (John Cusack) loved his younger brother, Gordie. (Will Wheaten) I had an older brother that died, and he and I were close. He was the apple of my Mother's eye, but I was ignored by her in place of him. He saw this, and felt compassion for me, and always stood by me. I sure miss him...

That's an interesting if sad story. Entertainment, whether it be books, movies, TV, etc. have different meanings to different people, and that's why they can be so powerful. That would never have occurred to me because I didn't live it.

What I liked about the movie is that the world they created seemed so real. Even though Denny was dead, everyone in the town knew him and talked about him. The kids spoke like kids, and the dialogue took for granted that they all knew each other and the town. Even though it might seem silly, one of my favorite sequences was when Vern described a detailed alternate way to get to Ray Brower. It made the town seem as if it really existed.

One of the best Stephen King adaptions. Very faithful to the novella, changing it from Maine to Oregon didn't hurt it any.

I'll say moments, all of the scenes focusing on the Ace, Eyeball Chambers and the rest of the group. And the bit when Ace and Eyeball run into Chris and Gordon in town at the beginning. In the novella they really didn't show up until the confrontation at the end.
