I thought to do a list of live-action shows that have featured one-off animated episodes.

This doesn't count shows that consisted of a live cast with an animated character, like "Son of Zorn".

- The final episode of HBO's "Tales from the Crypt", 'The Third Pig', was an animated horror version of The Three Little Pigs.

- The CW's "Supernatural" featured an animated crossover with Scooby-Doo called 'Scoobynatural'.

Amazing Stories - 'Family Dog' (Was even spun off into a very short lived series)

Holliston - 'Blobby' (Season 2)

Tonight's episode of Life in Pieces had an animated piece/segment. Not the whole episode though, the part where Matt and Colleen are explaining her infertility to Sophia.

Even though SpongeBob is an animated show, it has had some live action episodes.

Community first had a stop motion Christmas episode in season two, and then in season five it had an old school animated episode made to look like an episode of "G.I. Joe."

Cosby from the late-90s had an animated episode. I think it was inspired by I Spy.

There was actually a live action opening sequence for The Simpsons in a Season 17 episode of the show:

There is that episode of Two and a Half Men where it is explained what happened to Charlie in Paris.

Since he left the show they had to use a cartoon. But that was for only a small part of the episode.

Instead of one episode, the 4th season of the CBS All Access/Paramount+ series “No Activity” will be animated.

I think The George Lopez Show had some stop motion animated Christmas scenes while George was watching TV.
