The one episode that just rubs you the wrong way, is so lackluster, or just plain irritates you to the point that you make a conscientious effort to avoid it in reruns.

View Full Version : What is your most hated TV episode of any show? TMC 08-02-2018, 07:49 PM The one episode that just rubs you the wrong way, is so lackluster, or just plain irritates you to the point that you make a conscientious effort to avoid it in reruns. factsoflife 08-03-2018, 11:38 AM The Golden Girls episode called "Empty Nest" which featured Rita Moreno. It is frankly just a boring episode, and not at all funny. I also hate the episodes with Mr. Terrific. Patty Duke 08-03-2018, 12:44 PM Roseanne, "What a Day for a Daydream" edoug 08-03-2018, 01:21 PM MASH Dreams, I'm not really critical of when it became more serious but this was way out there. I'm not crazy about the Fairy Tale episode on The Monkees. RetroGuy2000 08-03-2018, 03:14 PM The episode of The Golden Girls where Miles is secretly a mob witness in the witness protection program. I seriously can't believe this episode was even made, as it wrecked that character. The lottery episode of Roseanne, which ruined the rest of that season. The episode of The Facts of Life where Edna's Edibles burned down, and they build an '80s kitsch shop in its place. The decline of the show started then. opus 08-03-2018, 04:44 PM Easy question. 'Sonny Boy' episode of One Day At A Time (Season 8). Of 209 episodes, it's the only one Valerie Bertinelli wasn't in. tvfan25 08-03-2018, 08:13 PM The Brady Bunch episode where Grandma and Grandpa visit, played by Florence Henderson and Robert Reed. Madness 08-03-2018, 10:44 PM I can pretty much watch any episode of Full House when it’s on except the episode where Jesse plays Stavros. I have to turn it every time because it’s just terrible. treky 08-04-2018, 12:42 AM MASH-"DREAMS"-too dramatic, too dark (it reminds me of an episode of "THE TWILIGHT ZONE), boring and just plain stupid. In fact I always avoid most of the ones from seasons8-11. They made a HUUUGE mistake by not canceling it when Radar left. stevea 08-04-2018, 09:27 AM The Brady Bunch episode where Grandma and Grandpa visit, played by Florence Henderson and Robert Reed. I can tolerate that one (barely), but the worst is Kelly's Kids. Babalu 08-04-2018, 11:21 AM I'd probably have to do a lot of research because I don't watch most of the old shows anymore but the one that comes to mind right now is the Star Trek episode called "Turnabout Intruder". It was just on a couple of nights ago and I purposely missed it. The plot is that Captain Kirk's consciousness is put into the body of a woman so Gene Roddenberry can make a woman run the Enterprise. Left wing propaganda is one of the main reasons I stopped watching TV so having it show up on one of my favorite shows makes it worse. As revenge, that was the last episode made before Star Trek was cancelled. Another one is the Brady Bunch episode where Ken Berry appears as a friend or relative of the Brady's with a woman playing his wife and the plot is about them adopting three children of different races. Same reason. That was also a pilot for a prospective show which fortunately was not picked up. stevea 08-04-2018, 11:57 AM ...Another one is the Brady Bunch episode where Ken Berry appears as a friend or relative of the Brady's with a woman playing his wife and the plot is about them adopting three children of different races. Yong Fang 08-06-2018, 04:18 AM MASH Dreams, I'm not really critical of when it became more serious but this was way out there. I'm not crazy about the Fairy Tale episode on The Monkees. How about the MASH episode which only featured Alan Alda have a concussion in a peasant hut after a jeep accident. Really Alan Alda, you wanted an episode by yourself? I take it the other players got paid for their week off. This also ensured that only Alan Alda himself was in every episode. Same reason. That was also a pilot for a prospective show which fortunately was not picked up. I was going to bring up Star Trek, since I am a big fan of the franchise in many ways. But each series had its share of bad episodes, even DS9 by far my favorites series of the franchise. Online discussions about Star Trek basically have a revue of their favorite and worst epsiodes and mostly everyone agreed which 10 percent of the shows sucked. edoug 08-06-2018, 04:53 PM How about the MASH episode which only featured Alan Alda have a concussion in a peasant hut after a jeep accident. Yeah not a favorite but Dreams is just so wrong. The concussion episode may have been made because of Alda's ego. I think part of his ego was to make MASH the best show possible. So I won't condemn him for it. AB 08-06-2018, 05:07 PM I don't like any drama's that have a musical episode, where the actors break out into song instead of saying their lines. It drives me up the wall. Riverdale and Grey's Anatomy did one recently as well as some other shows. Just horrible. Do you mind those? icecream 08-06-2018, 06:17 PM How about the MASH episode which only featured Alan Alda have a concussion in a peasant hut after a jeep accident. This also ensured that only Alan Alda himself was in every episode. The only series regular besides Alan Alda who was a regular in every season was Loretta Swit. I don't like the concussion episode either but there were other episodes she missed as well. JamesG 08-06-2018, 07:09 PM I'm not really a fan of "Flashbacks" where the characters reminisce about past events while showing segments of former episodes. The only exception is when it is done as a tribute for a character's (or actor's) death. jimpickens 08-08-2018, 04:45 AM Episodes where the lead character or someone else on the show is the bad guy for having a gun. KurtfromPitts 08-08-2018, 11:00 AM The Full House season 3 ep that has Jesse accusing D.J. of drinking beer even though someone gave her the can and she didn't even put her lips on it. She is dejected further when none of the adults believe her. |
