Hello all,

Longtime lurker, first time poster here.

I was going through some old DVD's and I happened to find my copy of this set. I'm sure that there's been many conversations about this but the production company could have done a better job picking out segments.

To me, a lot of the cases profile were not really "bizarre" nor "mysterious".

Greg Webb, Marie Hilley, Margot Freshwater, Julius Patterson, Ira Einhorn, Rick Church etc should have never made it into the box set. We know that they're the perpetrators.

Michael Francke, Mark Groezinger, Stanley Gryzeic, Jill and Julie Hansen, David Hurley, Su-Ya Kim, Norman Ladner, Little Miss Pannasoffkee, Dexter Stefonek, Su Taraskiewicz, Keith Warren etc. would have all made great cases to profile.

Anyway....that's just something that bugged me.

Looking forward to many conversations with you all.

Welcome fellow lurker!

I have to agree that the DVD producer in made a number of bizarre choices in general and I am surprised to see such little discussion about them. My theory in this particular case is that they felt the viewing audience would be much more satisfied to see as many crimes solved and justice served as possible.

Slightly off topic but I hate how they released a Miracles and a Psychics when there were so many better cases that could have been presented. The only reason I bought these (at an outrageous price of C$90 each back in the 2005!) was because I am a hardcore fan of the show. I would have prefer just releasing it like it was originally aired but at the very least a robbery and other serious crimes DVD would have been a better choice.

When that box set came out forever ago, we were all kind of disappointed with the cases that were chosen for the bizarre murders set.

And I never understood how the Kelsay/Robinson Fish Springs house segment wasn't included in the hauntings/ghost set. That segment caused 10 year old me to get no sleep the night it originally aired.

Completely agree re: Bizarre Murders.

I remember being just as disappointed when they released the "Best of UM" set. As I opened it and watched it, all that was going through my head was the sad trombone noise that you heard on The Price is Right when someone lost their game....

I was disappointed with all of the DVD sets but I bought them all when they were released anyway.

My main complaint was the way they balanced it, it made no sense to have the equal number of DVDs for psychics and miracles as they had for the murder cases.

I remember renting them from Blockbuster and being very disappointed at the choices. Thank god for CD's stuff.
