In 1976 R&B singer Deniece Williams made her debut with her album This Is Niecy which referred to Niecy as Deniece Williams's nickname and released the classic song Free. Deniece Williams also was best known for singing the popular duet Too Much Too Little Too Late with Johnny Mathis and she also performed the theme song Without Us with Johnny Mathis which became the theme song to the sitcom Family Ties. Deniece Williams has moved on to the Christian/Gospel genre now where she has great success as a gospel singer. But a lot of 80's music fans may remember Deniece Williams's big hit from Footloose Let's Hear It For The Boy which was also covered and featured on the ICarly soundtrack as well

This song makes me cry.

Her voice is like nobody else's I have ever heard. She and the late great Minnie Ripperton have it all over today's "singers".

Unsung.

I think Deniece Williams has a wonderful voice and it is surprising that Deniece Williams's career took off on the gospel charts because she really has a neat voice for gospel music. My favorite song is It's Gonna Take A Miracle which was also a cover of a song by The Royalettes. Deniece Williams also released a children's lullaby cd called Lullabies To Dreamland which is also cool as well
