View Full Version : A Tale of Two Mollys

On FOL Molly Ringwald portrayed Molly Parker.

But what if those defining lines became grayed? What if those two universes of real life and Eastland fiction intermingled?

Or, what if Molly Parker had continued her run at Eastland on camera?

It's really fun that one of our "Facts" girls went on to Hollywood stardom, because there's lots of material out there that we can use for fan mock-ups, bringing Eastland into the real world! :)

Ahaha! That's great, '80s!

Molly (Ringwald) was such a big part of the 1980s, as was The Facts of Life: the longest-running sitcom of the 1980s, which, for a while, co-starred the biggest teenager of the 1980s. It's odd to think that when Molly Parker's role dwindled, Molly Ringwald's career would ascend to heights we can never imagine.

It's a shame we didn't see her on FOL after The New Girl (outside of hopping into a DeLorean), but her film career in the 1980s was unparalleled.

Yup...and the 1980s was sure full of FOL and Molly!

And here's Molly's CD she released, with a bit of doctoring---one which Retro may not purchase, but it was still fun to mock up, lol:

Do yourself a favor and give it a go!

Oh, and "Sixteen Candles" too, Molly's first smash hit movie!

Okay, so do the Classic Molly Trilogy, in order:

There is not much difference between Molly Ringwald and Molly Parker. Both are feminists and social justice warriors. They both like cameras and techie stuff. The one big difference is that Molly Parker's parents are divorced while Molly Ringwald's have been married for almost 60 years. Plus Molly Ringwald is a better singer.

Another example of where the worlds of Molly Ringwald and Molly Parker blur. From her Facebook page a couple of years ago. I will leave out most of the politician stuff, but Molly wants everyone to know that she is a woman.

"Hey everyone, I don't let people in my house who graffiti the walls (unless they happen to be a talented artist) and I don't allow anyone to use my living room floor as a toilet unless... Nope, that's a deal-breaker right there.

This is my opinion as a proud and patriotic American citizen. I have been in the public eye more or less for most of my life, but that is not how I define myself and certainly not what I lead with. I am first and foremost a woman and mother who was taught by my parents that my voice mattered and that I should always speak up for what I believe is right. I'll continue to do up until what is the most important election in my life so far. Then I can go back to posting bunnies and squirrels playing tag."
