View Full Version : Wally didn’t say that
Scrabjan1 07-25-2018, 09:06 AM Wally asks if he can do a lot of stuff out of the blue. Which didn’t he say?
Can I grow a mustache?
Can I buy Eddie’s rowing machine?
Can I go to Hawaii this summer?
Can I get a parrot?
Can I take a cross country bus tour this summer? Just added
Can I get a tattoo?
Can I buy a boat?
Can I get a monkey?
Can I go to Mexico?
Can I be a forest ranger? (Added by Stevea)
stevea 07-25-2018, 09:14 AM It's between the parrot snd the monkey--I'll say the parrot.
(off the subject) I didn't see the dance hall girl episode today--doesn't Wally throw a fit just like Beaver does about dancing school, etc.?
Scrabjan1 07-25-2018, 11:49 AM Wally does throw a fit but only about playing a girl and wearing the dress. Love when June fixes Wally’s dress Wally walks back and forth and Ward tries to hide his amusement. Eddie must have been a riot playing the dance hall girl.
Anyway believe it or not it’s not monkey or parrot. In one episode while he is sitting at the table with Ward he says dad can I get a monkey and in another episode he asked June if he can get a parrot. I remember thinking how funny it was that Wally wants a monkey and a parrot and later Beaver gets them.
stevea 07-25-2018, 12:27 PM Oh, then it's probably the boat. I think I remember all the others.
Scrabjan1 07-25-2018, 07:22 PM That’s right Wally never asked if he could get a boat. Beaver asked Ward if he could get help buying a canoe.
Any other requests that I forgot about? I know often Wally asks for money. Dad can I have 3 dollars, can I have 6 dollars to fix my walker talkie.
Bonniegirl 07-25-2018, 10:51 PM Wally is adorable!! I love when he comes out with random comments and requests!!:):D:heart:
getsmartbeaver 07-26-2018, 07:02 PM The random lines make me think Leave It to Beaver was way ahead of its time, where it sometimes feels like an 80s/90s sitcom or a 90s/00s kids' show.
Scrabjan1 07-30-2018, 02:13 PM Wally certainly was funny with the stuff he came up with. I love when he asked if he can grow a mustache. Later he does grow one.
Here’s another Wally question.
In which episode does Wally make a fist and pulls back his arm to punch Eddie? June prevents it from happening.
stevea 07-30-2018, 02:22 PM June comes in the bedroom. Was it one where Eddie thought Wally was dating Eddie's girl (Carolyn, maybe?)?
Scrabjan1 07-30-2018, 02:32 PM You mean Carolyn Cunningham? No not that one.
Hint: Eddie is already in the boys’ room and Wally walks in.
stevea 07-30-2018, 02:51 PM What about the too-tall girl episode, Gail Preston?
Scrabjan1 07-30-2018, 03:14 PM That’s it!! Wally’s Big Date
stevea 07-30-2018, 06:37 PM We did see Eddie hit Wally once, but did we ever see Wally actually take a poke at Eddie?
Alex Cooper 07-30-2018, 11:44 PM I'm quite sure Wally never said: "Eddie, do you like movies about gladiators?" But that would've been cool.
Scrabjan1 07-31-2018, 06:15 PM Wally often said he would take a poke at him but never did. Wally never roughed up Eddie. Even Lumpy backed down from Wally cuz he was so good at sports. Lumpy was a football player and musician however.
stevea 07-31-2018, 06:20 PM Of course we did see Eddie punch Wally. I'm thinking that's the only "sort of" fight we saw.
With Beaver there were "sort of" fights, but they were really just rolling around on the ground.
Scrabjan1 07-31-2018, 07:56 PM Right Beaver and Gilbert, Beaver and Clyde Applebee and Beaver and the paper girl.
stevea 07-31-2018, 08:08 PM He never did fight Sonny Cortright, did he (after Larry opened his big mouth)? Sonny couldn't beat him up because he had to go to his music lesson, and later didn't show up.
Scrabjan1 08-01-2018, 03:31 PM At school Sonny punched Larry in the stomach. Larry should have kept his mouth shut probably why he had to almost have his appendix out twice. Larry’s stomach was quite a target. Beaver punched him in the stomach when Larry stayed overnight, when he called Linda a smelly old ape and often threatened to punch him in the stomach like when he broke the bow in Wally’s Present.
stevea 08-01-2018, 06:16 PM Wasn't the Linda Dennison thing in the school hall? Beaver did a slow boil, and punched Larry in the stomach.
Scrabjan1 08-05-2018, 02:10 PM That’s right when Beaver has to call Linda a bad name to prove she wasn’t his girl. He punched Larry cuz he was the closest.
stevea 08-05-2018, 03:36 PM I think it was Mr. Bloomgarten who broke it up. Had it been Mrs. Rayburn, she probably would have sent a note home with him. Or called Ward in for a conference.
Scrabjan1 08-05-2018, 07:46 PM Mrs. Rayburn did send a note home. On close up it was a bunch of nonsense about baseball and the last sentence is about Beaver’s conduct. It’s on google about LITB letter.
stevea 08-05-2018, 09:46 PM Strike three!
Scrabjan1 08-06-2018, 09:34 AM No strikes at all. Sorry I mentioned it.
stevea 08-06-2018, 08:50 PM Hey no problem...I get another turn at bat!
In season 6 Beaver was in a roll around fight with the paper girl, whom he didn't know was a girl (as was mentioned). This was one of two episodes (I think) that Rich Correll was in, in the sixth season (the other one was the football award episode). Does anyone know what happened to him that season? You might say they were giving Beaver new friends, but we also saw quite a bit of Gilbert and Whitey in that season.
Like Ron Howard he went on to a lot of behind the scenes success, but in TV rather than movies, notably Happy Days and Disney channel shows.
Scrabjan1 08-09-2018, 01:27 PM I think Richard Correll did do a lot behind the scenes. Never saw him in any other roles.
Whereas Gilbert and Whitey showed up a lot. “Oh cut it out Gilbert and Whitey.” (Beaver the Hero)
stevea 08-09-2018, 02:16 PM I saw him in a Make Room For Daddy episode, but nothing else, as a kid.
As an adult he directed Suite Life Of Zack and Cody (and as I said other Disney shows), and he actually had an acting part in one episode (aptly playing a director). You can recognize it's him.
getsmartbeaver 08-10-2018, 06:41 PM Yesterday I watched the Full House episode "Radio Days," which was directed by Rich Correll. Joey's line, "In case you haven't noticed the height difference, I'm not Michelle" is similar to June's line from "Beaver's Bike": "And don't you dare say he's just like me!"
stevea 08-10-2018, 07:03 PM This is interesting--I knew Correll was involved in Happy Days, but I thought the rest of his backstage experience was with Disney Channel.
