Why do I have to sit through 5436 movie previews (give or take a few hundred) before I finally get to see the movie I actually paid for?

Regarding talkers, I don't mind those who laugh along with the jokes or who make small one-off comments during the flick, but I can't stand those who constantly jabber throughout the movie. Recently when I went to see Ocean's 8, this couple appeared in the theater when the film was about to end in 10 minutes. There were no seats available except for 2 seats in the middle of a row and expected to be let in. The woman sitting at the aisle was like, "I'm not moving" and then people started jeering and throwing popcorn at them. They left after that. It was like that scene from Scary Movie where everyone takes turns at stabbing the talking woman during the flick. Bonniegirl 07-23-2018, 01:47 AM Why do I have to sit through 5436 movie previews (give or take a few hundred) before I finally get to see the movie I actually paid for? I agree! I hate that too!!! :( They do it of course so you are like "Wow I want to see that movie when it comes out"!! I can understand that! But when they show too many previews it is just overkill, it's like "Start the friggin' movie already" !!!! I have found a theater near me that only plays 3 trailers!! I pray that when a movie comes out that I want to see it is shown here! ;) Bonniegirl 07-23-2018, 01:52 AM My main movie theater pet peeves are people who talk during the movie and late arrivals who look for a seat after it's begun. Even though the majority of the theaters these days have where you pick your seat when you buy the ticket, so it's assigned seating, they still are like "Where are our seats, where is this row , duh," discussing among themselves and basically walking around being annoying when the movie already started!!!:rolleyes: Torgo 07-23-2018, 11:00 AM Talkers are bad, though I don't mind if they comment on the movie, or yell stuff at the screen (Going way back, but while watching Hellraiser II on the big screen and Julia shows up skinless, a girl in front of us says "Can't they put something on that?") Or seeing Fellowship Of The Ring, and a father behind us explaining to his son what hobbits were. But the ones that sit there and have full conversations. Ugh. You paid for a ticket, yet you're not going to watch the movie? opus 07-23-2018, 01:05 PM Talkers are less of a pet peeve type of thing and more of a you have a 100% legal right to smack 'em around into quietness and take their popcorn situation. Hawkee 07-24-2018, 04:27 AM My pet peeve when I go to the movies that I can't figure out why families do this is why do parents bring their kids to the movies if the parents know that the children will be noisy throughout the movie? Because when I have gone to the movies I have seen kids as young as five and even older kids act up or start crying or throwing popcorn or spill soda or kick and scream even before the movie even starts. And another thing that kids do at the movie theater is talk talk talk throughout the whole movie and to me when you are trying to watch a movie with children present you expect your kids to be quiet. And if you want to bring kids to a movie why don't parents bring Nintendo DS's or have the kids listen to their Ipods while the parents watch the movie so the kids will not get bored and the only time kids can talk throughout a movie is if they need popcorn or a bathroom break and reward kids for good behavior after the movie is finished Bestie |
