I found a commercial for Ajax Laundry Detergent that appears to be from the 50's and when it starts the intro begins with a cowboy riding his horse at a fast gallop The Lone Ranger style then the scene cuts to a man getting grass stains on his shirt and then after a short demonstration of how Ajax Laundry Detergent works the commercial ends with the slogan "Stronger Than Dirt". When in the 50's did this commercial air and is there many variants or versions of it?

The series of commercials is actually from the 1960's.

They ran for much of the decade and I remember them from when I was very young. They were filmed in the NY area and the horse that was used in at least some of the commercials was a horse that was housed at Clove Lake Park on Staten island and was part of the horseback riding academy there, so you could actually ride that horse yourself. In addition, "Stronger than dirt!" was used by The Doors at the end of the song Touch Me.

The Ajax Laundry Detergent commercial that I found was filmed in New York? What an amazing fact to know and the horse was from an actual stable too. I wonder what the name of the horse was? I do remember hearing the slogan Stronger Than Dirt in The Doors song Touch Me because the oldies station I used to listen to used to play that song all the time and I never knew that the end of the song was actually from the Ajax Laundry Detergent commercials
