Believe it or not, Mego Toy Company is coming back to Target end of this month, and Tootie is part of their TV Favorites line. Photo courtesy of Mego Museum: http://www.megomuseum.com/exclusive-mego-tootie-from-facts-of-life/

The same world where The Facts of Life has "10, 12 girls". ;)

The notebook is a cute detail. But shouldn't it be a Pee-Chee folder?

I've never heard of a "Pee-Chee folder", and had to Google it, lol.

Pee-Chee folders were all the rage in the 1980s. We had them.

When you watch '80s TV shows, you will see them. Maybe not FOL, as they rarely ever seemed to, like, attend classes outside of the ones where they were trying to get faculty fired, but any other TV show in the 80s where the characters were in school.

I know I saw them on HotC and SBTB. I also saw them recently on a show set in the 1980s, Stranger Things.

But I don't! lol...I re-watched HotC, this spring, but never noticed them. And I never noticed them on anything like Mr. Belvedere, The Cosby Show, Growing Pains, etc. (although I haven't watched the latter two in ages).

Weird how I existed in the 1980s never having known these.

Look again, the girls walking out the door from the season 1 intro are there. ;)

Right, isn't that the same opening shot of the first 4 seasons? Or did they re-film it after season 1 with different girls? :confused:

They don't show any girls in the shot after 1, its just the exterior itself

I know I've seen them in The Cosby Show and Growing Pains, too. Just look for the peach-colored folders. Once you notice them, you will see them often.

Weird how I existed in the 1980s never having known these.

We covered ours in stickers. Artistic students would modify the characters so they would be doing obscene things, or black out the people's teeth in funny ways, or draw wings and such on them (https://i.pinimg.com/originals/89/d2/05/89d205c5d670d2f85209f116aa0c88ae.jpg).

I can't believe you lived through the '80s without experiencing Pee-Chees. :confused::eek:

I wonder if Kim liked the Tootie doll?

I'm sure she felt it was like looking in a mirror. ;)

Reminds me a bit of what Carrie Fisher said about some of her action figures.

Obviously, that they were very well done, and totally didn't look like they had just stuck long hair on an existing male figure. :lol:
