I think everyone can agree with me when I say the FIRST SEASON was the worst. Denise was REAL boring in season one thank God for Debbie Allen!

I believe that Denise could have been more interesting. She just has more chemistry with her family in Brooklyn. She had pretty good chemistry with Dwayne and Jalessa. I think she could have worked later if some more fine tuning was done. I wish there was references to Maggie and Millie.

I personnally liked the first season the best it was never the same or as good when lisa Bonet and Marisa Tomei (sp) left.

The worst season was the last season.

I say Season 6 as well, due to the addition of younger Cosby Show characters in Charmaine and Lance. I actually liked Season 1 since it showed a promising springboard which the show only grew from.

Was the real problem with Season 1 was that Bill Cosby may have been too involved and would not let the Denise character grow? Like, there's that episode where Dwayne was tutoring Denise and snuck out Whitley's room. That episode was supposed to challenge the strict gender rules but they ultimately balked.

The first season as a whole, felt too much like The Cosby Show. They kept on having Denise talk to her family and even had Rudy and Theo visit her at Hillman College.
