View Full Version : I'm in a bad mood...
MrCleveland 07-10-2018, 04:34 PM I've been depressed all this week.
First...I was supposed to be with my brother today so that we can see what we can do with my future...but he bailed on me since he's sick.
Second...I was hoping to get a house, but my boss says in Lakewood "It's easier said than done". And since I only have $5K in the savings...I dunno if I can buy a house in a decent area in Old Brooklyn.
Third...my job coach insisted that I get a photograph job...it's on a bus line, but with this job I HAVE to have a car!
And...I saw the one I call Catlady who used to be my neighbor up front...a few weeks ago, she had the gall to take pictures on how bad the conditions in the yard were, that *****! If she moves back in, I'm moving out!
But...the only place I can afford is...living with my old man! I love him, but there's a few things that need to be fixed there. Like the plumbing, the heater, and having a hot water tank. Also, I'll have to kiss all my possessions goodbye because he said "I can't take all of it and I have to leave some things behind"!
I feel that I have NO purpose in life...**** Rick Warren! Everytime I ask for help, the world says "help yourself"! I hate my life! And I'm just about to see a gypsy/fortune teller on why this is happening?
Steve_uk 07-10-2018, 04:45 PM Who is Rick Warren?
MrCleveland 07-10-2018, 04:58 PM Who is Rick Warren?
The author of The Purpose-Driven Life and founder/minister of Saddleback Church.
Maybe I should read that book again...but I've read it more than once and it did nothing for me!
Bonniegirl 07-10-2018, 05:07 PM Mr. Cleveland, I can't stay on long and post a lot right now but real quick just want to let you know I care for you and feel bad that you are upset, :(and you are in my prayers!;)

It's no shame for Christians to wish to better themselves materially as long as they don't walk over others in the process. I do feel that the competitive element now has become far too fierce and has led to many of the social problems which beset Western societies today.
I see that the book you quote is for sale at £2.80 at World of Books.
Find a way to make a living. Do what you’re good at, even if it doesn’t make you happy. I know they always say to do what you love for a living, but most of us can’t. No more hemming and hawing, do that job that you can do and take pride in doing it well. I know you want to do some internet show or something like that, but now’s the time to just work. I don’t know your age, but if you’re over 35 it’s time to just work. Do what you love outside of work. The perfect job is not usually out there.
JamesG 07-10-2018, 08:01 PM And I'm just about to see a gypsy/fortune teller on why this is happening?
Guaranteed that they will see you're a desperate "easy mark" and will milk you for everything you've got.
MrCleveland 07-11-2018, 07:28 AM Today, I go for a job interview that I was insisted to do. I can't say "no" since no one takes it literally...it looks like I have to have a car, what am I gonna tell the guy in the interview since I'm carless?
Also...The Cleveland Idiots lost to the Cincinnati Reds despite being in the lead!
I'll be talking to my psychologist tomorrow...
Can't you stay with your brother and get a new house?
MrCleveland 07-13-2018, 09:44 PM Can't you stay with your brother and get a new house?
Well...
...things today got better. My brother is having me look at cars and a house next week. I had interest in a few...mostly Chevrolet, Mitsubishi, Nissan, and Hyundai.
How good are Nissan's and Mitsubishi's?

Don't have an answer for you about cars but glad to know things are looking up for you.

Mitsubishi's:
Good chasis and suspension. Even, it eats a lot of money to maintain.
Nissan's:

Steve_uk 07-14-2018, 07:34 AM It pains me to say it, but you can't go wrong with a German or a Japanese car.
MrCleveland 07-18-2018, 09:26 PM I'll still get a car...but I'm shaky since I haven't been driving for 6 years...I'm nervous.
I'm the one in my family that has been pushed-back for many things in life even though I'm the oldest...and right now...I feel that I'll never have a wife or family...I'll always have a loveless life....
Sometimes when I'm in a bad mood, I get mad. Other times like now...I get sad...isn't being sad part of being in a bad mood?
Steve_uk 07-19-2018, 01:18 PM Well I suppose sadness is a part of life. I once took St. John's Wort but decided I didn't like the feeling of imposed happiness which some central nervous system stimulants can induce. Far better to try to address the root of the problem, though this is easier said than done.

Yes it is.
Why can’t you live in an apartment? Why do you need a house?
MrCleveland 07-19-2018, 03:32 PM Why can’t you live in an apartment? Why do you need a house?
It's more of a want than need, but...I just wan't happy where I'm at since I'm close to my work.
If I can, I'd like to move-out of where I'm at ans ask my landlady that I know someone who's looking for a place to live since he's more unhappy where he's at than I am where I'm at.

The Cleveland area economy must not be so good. Why not move to Columbus and explore the job opportunities there? Sounds like your heart is in Cleveland, but you've got to make a living.
Bonniegirl 07-19-2018, 05:10 PM It would be nice if you could find a roommate ! Someone in your type of position that you get along with but not a family member where you feel that they are in charge of things, like you were saying how it would, be living with your Father ! Somebody neutral that you guys just split expenses half and half , go to your jobs and get along in the house/or apartment but without all the family drama! ;)

My second home is Washington DC...I know a pastor there and I'm wondering if he can help me...plus the Public Broadcasting Service is in the DC Area...I wonder if they need someone to do sound or film?

I bet you'll be great in that field.
Steve_uk 07-20-2018, 10:56 AM I always feel it's shame when you have to move out of your home area for a job.
I'm in a bad mood myself right now and sure wish I could talk to someone on here.

Unfortunately that's the life of most Americans these days. All business is getting centralized in major metropolitan areas. You have to leave your small town, usually.

Yes and what problems it brings in its wake: a decreased talent pool in rural areas, the loneliness of the big city if aspirations are thwarted, the mental health problems it can engender, the enervating effort of keeping up with the Jones's, the burgeoning property prices, the divided society..

I live in a small city...Cleveland is now out of the Top-50 and someone said to me "why don't you live in another city"? This was an ex-Facebook friend and I almost want to say what Sinatra said to Mitch Miller "**** You, Move Along"...and this was 2 years ago...but I hugged him for a long time when my mom died months later...his wife apologized, but...what should I say?
I do like where I'm at, but...is a bigger city my dream?

Well if you want a career in show business as it sounds like your best bet is to move away from Cleveland. Washington D.C. will definitely have more opportunity for you in general.
