In 1997 The Family Channel debuted Shopping Spree a fun game show devoted to anything and everything about shopping. Hosted by Ron Pearson and featuring Burton Richardson as the announcer Shopping Spree featured two contestants doing various stunts for prizes. Each episode of Shopping Spree featured a various member of the audience playing a model named Dennis/Denise DuJour who brought comic relief to the contestants and if the winning contestant team did well they played a cute bonus round called The Birthday Party in which contestants were asked to give birthday gifts based on the "celebrity's" likes or dislikes and the "celebrities" used for this bonus round of Shopping Spree were actually sillouettes of popular celebrities from yesterday and today. Shopping Spree was also part of The Family Channel's game show afternoon block and is best known for it's animated cartoon intro that's so cute
