Hey everyone,

2019 will mark the 40th anniversary of The Facts of Life. May 4th will be the 40th anniversary of the airing of the backdoor pilot, The Girls' School, on Diff'rent Strokes. August 24th, 2019, will be the 40th anniversary of the first episode.

Does anyone have plans to celebrate in some way? Group binge-watching marathon? Site visits? Petition the network for a reunion? Building a Tootie float for the Macy's parade?

Oh wow, that's right! 40 Years of Eastland! (what a great title for a new documentary! lol)

I will most likely dive back into the series this or next year.

And have lunch with Julie Ann and Lisa! (okay, not realistically, but that would be fantastic, lol)

A rewatch definitely sounds doable.

I'm thinking about doing an event, possibly at Pomona College. We'll see.

Yeah? An actual event? Awesome! :D

I'm just thinking about it, right now. But I've worked with enough celebrities that I'm thinking I could possibly pull it off. Still mulling it over.

Mrs. Garrett as a TV character turns 40 this November 3rd, since that's the anniversary of the debut of "Diff'rent Strokes."

I'm sure you know that already. I just felt it was worth mentioning. ;)

That's a GREAT point, Adam!

Maybe the celebrations should start then.

Which celebrities have you worked with?

Many, among them Wayne Brady, Vivica A Fox, a Red Power Ranger, etc. Mostly for charitable events. :D

You met Wayne?!
Met him, worked with him, took his photo with his family, in December 2005. Had some conversations, and he is GREAT to work with. He is down to earth, modest, yet funny. One of my favorite celebrity collaborations of all time.

At the time, I worked for Disney. I took photos of him and his family during the time ABC was broadcasting Whose Line. During that time I also worked with Meredith Viera, Vivica A. Fox, and a bunch of sports figures (mostly basketball).

So cool you got to meet all of these celebrities.

Yes! The concept seems so strange! And how odd to admit that some of us were watching the show in its original airings...

We just "The Muppet Movie" 's 40th anniversary this past Saturday. Now FOL's 40th will be in exactly 2 months, August 24th!

(although Retro, I don't know if you wanna change the original title to "this" year, now that it's this year. I just thought I'd bump your 40th instead of creating a new one, lol)
