I love those subtle moves that Ward does but there aren’t too many. One of my favorites is when June reads that war letter Wally wrote about capturing 65 prisoners single handed. (Beaver’s Hero) Ward makes a gesture with his tie like he is quite amazing. Any more?

In Beaver , The Magician Mrs. Bellamy brings Benji over and the rock that is Beaver. June is holding the rock on her lap and Benji turns it over as she had Beaver upside down. After Mrs. B and Benji leave Ward turns the rock as June might have him upside down again.

I didn't see any gestures, but I really liked how Ward handled Beaver's situation today, by letting both him and Larry "grow up a little." Sometimes it's best to step back and see if the kids will 'fess up.
Beaver later said Mis Landers took away Larry's recesses, even though she told all of them to go out to recess. Evidently she took them away later.

I really liked that story he told the boys. I thought Miss Landers was out of line to dump all over Beaver. As Larry said he never missed having his homework but Larry missed it several times. Miss Landers should have given him a little leeway. She sends home a note and makes him miss his recess.

Miss Landers wasn't so much "hacked" that Beaver didn't turn in his homework--she was mad because he wouldn't tell her why he didn't turn it in.
But he could hardly say, I gave it to Larry because of the story my dad told me about Damon and Pythias. Particularly right in front of the class. He might have told her more about it after school, without telling on Larry.
But Ward was right. Larry did some growing up.
