We've had a lot of cold cases get solved lately and it took me a while to realize that two of them were briefly featured on UM in the same segment:

An arrest was made this past week in the murder of 12-year old Michella Welch, which took place in Tacoma, Washington in 1986. She and two other murdered girls from Tacoma, Jennifer Bastian and Carla Wright, were originally mentioned as part of a Special Alert at the end of the David Harry Fisher segment, as Fisher was being looked at as a potential suspect. Of course, Fisher was eventually ruled out as a suspect after his capture.

In case you hadn't heard, an arrest was also made for the murder of Jennifer Bastian last month. Along with the recent arrest in the Jay Cook/Tanya Van Cuylenborg murders, it's insane how many cold cases from the 1980s in Washington state have been closed lately. Could the Mike Riemer/Diana Robertson or Michael Johnson/Rochelle Robinson cases be far behind? :)

Great news! Thanks for posting this, Robin. It’s been a good year — let’s keep racking up the solved cases.

Wow, what an imbecile Washman is. If he hadn't phoned the cops then he almost certainly would never have been on their radar for having his DNA taken.
