Looks like ClassicFlix has acquired the rights to the Blondie TV sitcom from 1957 and a DVD release is planned. A kickstarter campaign for a Blu-ray release has begun also. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbwCJw9f8h8 Count me in for the DVD set if it gets released.

Nice. I'd definitely buy it, though not near as good as the movies mainly because of Penny Singleton not returning as Blondie, Arthur Lake is still funny.

I never saw the TV series. I loved the movies and comic strips though!:) Who played Blondie in the TV show?

Pamela Britton has the role of Blondie in the 1957 TV show. I don't know why Penny Singleton wasn't Blondie in this show, maybe she was offered the role but declined.

Harold Peary is in this show as the Bumstead's neighbor Mr. Woodley. Peary is funny, I like him in those Gildersleeve movies made in the 1940's.

There was another Blondie sitcom attempted in 1968, starring Will Hutchins and Patricia Harty. Jim Backus has the role of Mr. Dithers. I would like to see these episodes too but the series lasted for only 14 episodes, so probably doubtful if they will be seen again. I've seen a few episode clips on You Tube but that's it.

In 1999, Bridgestone Multimedia issued all 28 Blondie movies on 28 VHS cassettes. I have all of these and it's a nice collection. The movies are uncut but they are the made for TV versions with the King Features openings and closings, not the original Columbia Pictures openings and closings. These VHS tapes are out of print and getting harder to find so I'm glad I have them.

ClassicFlix seems to be planning a DVD release of the 1957 series, so maybe they could do the 1968 series too, that would be awesome but will just have to wait and see.

There would probably be room on that release for an episode or two from 1968.
