Whenever I go to the Fan Fiction board and view the first post in that sub-board, I get this message:

No Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator

Hmmmm I have gotton that a few times since the change to 3.8.11 but not now... I went to the fan fiction base and all is well :)

How are you getting to the board? All the threads should be there. Are you clicking the arrow in the last post section.? The only similar thing I've seen that doesn't work is when you sort by the number of replies and click on the arrow.

This happens when I click on Last Post.
This happened to me a few times shortly after the upgrade but seems to have subsided.

I'm not sure why this is happening. It seems to only happen on certain threads/forums. It's mostly the older replies. I will try to rebuild the threads/forum information later tonight.

I meant to say this earlier, but there are certain other boards that do this too. Forget which ones though.
