I mean, he has a first name (it's Albert if you were wondering) and if that's too formal than they could just call him A.C or even Al, but nope.. Everyone just calls him by his last name including the teachers and Mr. Belding most of the time.

Because Mostly Everybody in Bayside High He Knows doesnt saying his first name. In Addition of Slater calling Zack “Preppie” on some occaisons, he also calls Jessie “Mama” at any some point.

He goes by his last name because his Dad was in the Military. Usually in military they call people by there last name.

I don't remember him ever calling Zack by his last name at least not on a regular basis anyway. There may have been one time, but that was it. It was always either his first name or "Preppie".
