E! announced today Rancic will be joining Jason Kennedy on the weekday entertainment news show, starting Sept. 4. The news comes six months after the messy departure of Catt Sadler from E! Rancic -- who co-hosted E! News from 2005 to 2015 -- is technically filling the void left by Maria Menounos, who departed last summer after she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Menounos' role was replaced by a number of rotating co-hosts, including Sadler, who departed last December after she said she learned that Kennedy was making more than double her salary. “Co-hosting alongside one of my best friends, Jason Kennedy, with one of the most talented teams in entertainment journalism, makes this move even more special," Rancic said in a statement. "I can’t wait to reconnect with the E! News audience and go on this journey together once again.”
