In 1981 a wonderful cartoon series named Honey Honey made it's debut in Japan and featured a wonderful storyline about a girl and her cat. In 1984 Honey Honey made it's debut in English in America but some English language episodes of Honey Honey were released on video by Sony. Honey Honey is one of the most popular cartoons in Japan that should've been given more exposure in America

The show was incredibly unpopular in Japan and was a complete failure that was cancelled early. They broadcast it during the same time as Super Sentai, that was its death sentence. It was aired briefly in the US on the Christian Broadcasting Company (aka the Family Channel) in 1984 and a number of volumes were released to vhs but not the complete series.
