View Full Version : About the Barbara Eden Show.
I Dream of Jeannie 05-27-2002, 07:27 PM I found out something really cool, well at least I thought it was. On The Barbara Eden Show (which only had 1 episode the pilot because NBC wouldn't go for it) Barbara Eden was joined by Larry Hagman whose character was named Major Nelson. I thought that was so awesome.
Paula 05-27-2002, 10:56 PM Interesting; I've never heard of it. I'm surprised that it wasn't mentioned on the biography of Barbara Eden on A&E. Well, I guess they figured that it's kind of insignificant to do so since there was only one ep.
I Dream of Jeannie 05-28-2002, 09:11 AM I think at first she was supposed to play a mail lady but then to try to make the network go for it they made her a soap opera writer but they still didn't go for it. Oh well.
Ms Garthe Knight 07-29-2002, 08:31 AM From what I know, they only wrote the pilot episode and Larry Hagman was going to be a guess on the first episode, but networks didn't buy it.
Larry and Barbara offen help each other out by guess starting in each others shows.
Did anyone here see Barbara and Larry on Dallas, it was shocking since I alway saw them as Major Nelson and Jeannie, but this brought on a new meaning to Major Nelson and Jeannie
I Dream of Jeannie 07-29-2002, 09:20 AM Barbara Eden appeared in 4 or 5 episodes, I wish that I could see those. To bad Dallas doesnt' come on anymore. I think that is so nice how those two help each other all the time, and Bill Daily also.
Ms Garthe Knight 07-29-2002, 08:39 PM If you want to know about their characters Barbara Eden was LeAnn De La Vega and Larry was J.R Ewing, she was part of his past when they were young, they were in a relationship until Barbara's character get pregnant with J.R's (Larry Hagman) baby and it goes down hill from there........ to find out the whole story, you can find it here under Barbara Eden as LeAnn De La Vega someone asked this question here.

I Dream of Jeannie 07-29-2002, 09:31 PM Yes. I researched that about 6 months ago. I knew about Larry playing J.R. already but it just made my day when I found out that Barbara Eden appeared on Dallas and was his ex. girlfriend at that. I've always thought that they make an awesome supercouple Barbara Eden and Larry Hagman, to bad they are and were both married at the time IDOJ was filmed and also at the present.
Ms Garthe Knight 07-29-2002, 10:12 PM They did make a great couple!
Did you know in 1971 they did a movie and played husband and wife in the movie (I'm currently getting a copy of it). I read this some where, this is what Barbara Eden said "I love working with Larry Hagman out of all the actors I have ever worked with. We were very close and it was just a wonderful time." :D
People who have interviewed the too have also said this
"Eden's and Hagman's mutual fondness and affection had never been more evident than in this rare monment in television history"
this was March of 1995
Larry Hagman even said that she is the most beautiful girl in the world.
It makes you wonder if anything did happen between the two??
another thing is during I dream of Jeannie when ever Larry Hagman was in deep water Barbara Eden was the one who would saved his ass, there were also a couple of times were he was about to get fired but Barbara Eden would stand up for him. Bill Daily said that in an interview. So they were very very very good friends and maybe a bit more, These are bits I have picked up during the years of been a fan of I dream of jeannie. I have book where I got most of these facts.
Want to see a pic of the movie they were in in 1971 you can find it at: http://hometown.aol.com/jeanniefire/index.html
