Incidental music is what you hear in the background during an episode.
Gilligan's Island (John Williams, Gerald Fried, Morton Stevens)
The Rifleman (Herschel Burke Gilbert)
The Waltons (Jerry Goldsmith, Arthur Morton, Alexander Courage)
The Twilight Zone (Jerry Goldsmith, Bernard Herrmann, and others)

My Three Sons (later seasons) - Frank DeVol
Dark Shadows - Robert Cobert
Twelve O'Clock High - Dominic Frontiere
Taxi...Bob James actually released an album that featured full versions of the incidental music.

I have it.
I didn't get my driver's license until I was 32 years old. I've always been a nervous guy. Anyways, for the first few months of driving, I'd play the Bob James CD and it calmed me down as I pictured myself as one of the cabbies on "Taxi." :)

Brady Bunch came to mind first
The Bob Newhart Show.
Just a few I thought of right away.

I think DeVol also did Brady Bunch (like My Three Sons I mentioned earlier). Frank DeVol was an outstanding composer.
