Season 1 was more of an "adult" comedy.

Beginning with season 2, cast changes were made and it became more of a "family-friendly" show airing as part of TGIF.

i always thought season 1 was the best. i just watched a few episodes from it on youtube, and it only confirmed my opinion.

the original setup was unconventional, yet it worked because the three main characters had so much chemistry. they're all well written and share equal time.

the dialogue is witty and fast paced. it was always a family show, with tyler being added as the next door neighbour a few episodes in. not to mention the variety of school students we meet courtesy of mark and robin's jobs as teachers. the colourful nineties fashion is still beautiful to look at.

it had broad appeal. i think it's underrated and almost forgotten when discussing the classics today.

Before the show premiere there was also comparisons calling it a "black Three's Company" probably more reason of the season 2 overhaul, take out one of the women and add a mother and daughter which fit right into ABC's TGIF.
