In my last thread, I explained how mention of the episode, "The Man From Zoron" inspired me to get out my set of DVDs and watch it in its entirety. I really enjoyed it. As a gimmic, I titled the thread "Be Inspired". I believe that this is the current slogan used by the pork producers of the United States. I then compared promotions by this organization to commercials by such organizations and the American Dairy Council and the American Egg Board. Last but not least, I wrote about how there were a few occasions in which I saw commercials by the producers of ice cream. Their slogan was "There's Something about Ice Cream". Well, in an attempt to stimulate some more conversation, I will now offer some other examples of commercials produced to organizations that promote certain types of foods and drinks. In my day, I have seen commercials offering the benefits of sugar, butter, cheese and beef. At one point, the slogan of the beef producers was "Beef, Real Food for Real People". At another point it was "Beef, its What's for Dinner". In the eighties, I even remember a promotion by the producers of coffee. They referred to the population watching the commercial as the coffee generation. "The Movers and the Shakers". I believe their slogan was "Hold on Tight, to You Drink". In one respect commercials like that are very similar to "Gimme a Break!". They both live on in my memories!
