With a network that gave it proper treatment, and without a writers strike, Back To You probably would have had multiple seasons.

With a network that gave it proper treatment, and without a writers strike, Back To You probably would have had multiple seasons.I liked Back to You but it ended up being a good thing getting cancelled after one season. If Back to You had been long running we might never have gotten the brilliance of The Middle, easily my favorite sitcom of the 2010s and the only sitcom from this decade that comes close to the classics of the past.

Two great, underrated shows (particularly SLOZAC). Brenda Song made these shows, IMO.

I liked Back to You but it ended up being a good thing getting cancelled after one season. If Back to You had been long running we might never have gotten the brilliance of The Middle, easily my favorite sitcom of the 2010s and the only sitcom from this decade that comes close to the classics of the past.
Yeah, I've thought of that. We might have gotten The Middle with another lead, though.

With another lead The Middle likely wouldn't have come close to 9 seasons. It is like when Lisa Kudrow briefly had the role of Roz on Frasier, that would have been a disaster.

Count me as a Patricia Heaton fan, also. In real life she is from "the middle," and I've liked her ever since the Raymond years.
