"Celebrity Big Brother" Renewed for Season 2 at CBS

After years of will they-won’t they, CBS last season finally did a celebrity installment of its summer reality staple "Big Brother". The experiment went well, and now the network has ordered a second installment.

CBS would not specify whether it would air during the regular 2018-19 season but that is the assumption.



Launched as a counter-programming to the Winter Olympics on NBC, "Celebrity Big Brother" did the job — keeping the lights on for CBS against the highly-rated Olympic Games.

The voyeuristic show also made a lot of noise, spawning a slew of headlines, mostly based on comments house guest Omarosa made about her tenure in the White House.

"Big Brother: Celebrity Edition" Reveals Cast Members for 2nd Season

A grab-bag of pop cultural names spanning the realms of politics, sports and the O.J. Simpson case make up the cast for the second season of "Big Brother: Celebrity Edition" on CBS.

The show will have a two-night premiere starting January 21 and run for three weeks, with the two-hour finale slated for February 13. Julie Chen will return as host.
