"Supernatural" Spin-off "Wayward Sisters" Not Moving Forward at The CW
by Denise Petski
May 11, 2018
The CW has opted not to move forward with "Supernatural" spin-off "Wayward Sisters". Co-creator Andrew Dabb revealed the news on Twitter.
“It breaks my heart to say this,” he wrote, “but CW has chosen to pass on Wayward Sisters. We love these characters, and have spent almost two years trying to make this show a reality on the network… but there are some fights, sometimes, you can’t win.”

"Supernatural" Spin-off "Wayward Sisters" was “Not Where We Wanted It To Be” Creatively, The CW Chief Says
by Lisa de Moraes
May 17, 2018
"Supernatural" spin-off "Wayward Sisters" did not get a pickup because it was not where it needed to be creatively, The CW chief Mark Pedowitz says. It was the very first question Pedowitz got on his phone call with press before this morning’s Upfront presentation to advertisers.
“We had really great material this year,” he said. “We’re really exited about the five series we did pick up. We are big fans of the characters and the women who played the characters in the series, but we did not feel creatively the show is where we wanted it to be. We felt we had a better shot with Legacies.”
Pedowitz added that The CW execs are “big fans” of the "Wayward" actresses “and hope they continue on…guest starring on Supernatural.”
But, he reiterated, he “did not feel Wayward was where it needed to be to go forward with it this year.”

Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins Say There's a Place for the "Wayward Sisters" on "Supernatural"
by Samantha Highfill
May 17, 2018
After the news that The CW passed on "Supernatural" spin-off "Wayward Sisters", many of the "Supernatural" stars took to social media to share their support for the show.
However, even if this is the end for "Wayward", its characters could always appear on the flagship series. “Selfishly, I’m split,” "Supernatural‘s" Jensen Ackles says of his feelings about the spin-off.
“I’d love to see these girls go and tell this amazing story, and I’d love to help them do that. But at the same time, I want to keep those characters in our world. I don’t want to let them go; they’re amazing characters.
They’re fan favorites and they’re cast favorites, so there’s a reason that they got that opportunity and I think it just goes to show how great they are and how valuable they are to us.”
Misha Collins shares a similar insight when he adds:
“I would love to see Wayward go forward, but I also know that there’s a great back-up, which is that all of those characters are alive and well and there’s a place for them in the Supernatural universe. We would love to see any and all of the Wayward Sisters back in action on Supernatural.”

"Supernatural" Boss: The Wayward Sisters will Return in "Multiple Episodes This Season"
by Samantha Highfill
August 15, 2018
"Wayward Sisters" might not have worked out, but that doesn’t mean the story of Jody and her girls has come to an end. Even though The CW ultimately decided not to pick up the "Supernatural" spin-off, showrunner Andrew Dabb says they’ve found a way to include all the Wayward characters in the flagship series’ upcoming 14th season.
Furthermore, it sounds like we might get some answers regarding things that were introduced in "Wayward’s" backdoor pilot (which aired as part of "Supernatural’s" 13th season).
“All of the characters are going to make their return one way or the other,” Dabb tells EW.
“We found a way to fold them organically into the plot line, and some of the hanging chads from the pilot last year ended up dovetailing nicely with some of the stuff Michael’s looking to do, and some of the stuff that’s going on in our world just generally. It all folds together pretty well, but they’ll definitely be in multiple episodes this season.”
Maybe that means we’ll see Kaia’s doppelgänger again?
"Supernatural" returns Thursday, Oct. 11, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
