"Last Man Standing" Resurrected at Fox for Season 7 with Original Cast
by Nellie Andreeva
May 11, 2018

It’s official — "Last Man Standing" will be back. A year after it was canceled by ABC, Fox has closed deals to bring back the multi-cam comedy starring Tim Allen for premiere during the 2018-19 season.

The bulk of the show’s core cast is back, including Allen, Nancy Travis, Jonathan Adams, Amanda Fuller, Christoph Sanders and Jordan Masterson. I hear co-star Hector Elizondo also has a deal in place to come back. His casting is currently in second position to his NBC comedy pilot "Guess Who Died" who is not expected to go forward at the network.

“Last Man Standing ended too soon and the outcry from the fans has been deafening,” said Gary Newman and Dana Walden, Chairmen and CEOs, Fox Television Group.

“We’ve wanted to put the show back together since its final taping a year ago, and Tim never gave up hope either. Thanks to its millions of devoted viewers and the irrepressible Tim Allen, we haven’t seen the last of Last Man Standing.”

Tim Allen said in a statement, “Excited? Team LMS was in the sixth inning, ahead by four runs, stands were packed and then for no reason, they call off the game. It leaves you sitting in the dugout, holding a bat and puzzled. Now we get the news from Fox that it’s time to get back out on that diamond – hell yes, I’m excited!

When I heard the offer to create more episodes of Last Man Standing, I did a fist pump so hard I threw my back out. It’s the fans! I could not be more grateful for the fans who wrote petitions and kept up the passion and incredible support for the show. And a fist pump, ouch, for Dana Walden and Gary Newman at Fox for not only listening to the fans, but for making the bold move to bring Last Man Standing back.

I’m sure audiences will be curious to see what we look like after all these years. Oh, has it only been one year? Well, just goes to show you – a lot can happen in a year.”

According to this write up here (https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/tv/2018/05/11/tim-allens-last-man-standing-revived-fox/603136002/), the show will return, but the actresses that play Eve and Mandy are not listed among those who will be a part of the new season. I pray that they have not found other long term projects to be a part of.

God bless you and them always!!!

"BOOM. ;)," tweeted Sarah Palin. "Life is good," added James Woods. Meanwhile, "liberal" Brooklyn Nine-Nine fans (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5720401/Outrage-Fox-drops-liberal-Brooklyn-Nine-Nine-resurrects-Tim-Allens-Man-Standing.html) saw the pickup of the Tim Allen comedy as a slap in the face.

If the girls are replaced, it will be the 2nd time. I don't like that.

I doubt they would replace them. Eve was going to college anyway

"Roseanne" Ratings, Not Politics, Emboldened Fox to Revive "Last Man Standing"
by Lisa de Moraes
May 14, 2018

Fox execs said the success of ABC’s "Roseanne" revival emboldened them to revive "Last Man Standing", but insisted they had been trying to return the Tim Allen starrer that ABC canceled two seasons back.

“Everyone took a good hard look at the success of Roseanne,” Fox TV group co-chair/CEO Dana Walden told reporters on a morning new-schedule phoner. “It reminded us we have a huge iconic star in our Fox family in Tim Allen. And we have been talking to Tim through the year,” she said.

Fox execs always felt, she said, that ABC, “for whatever reason” had not prioritized the comedy series, which was produced at Fox. It had clocked an average of 8.5 million viewers on the Disney-owned network “with very little promotion,” she noted.

“So yeah, we were emboldened by the performance of Roseanne,” Walden said. “it made us think this is a good opportunity for broadcast viewers” to watch a “beloved star” in a multi-cam comedy which is an “easier entry point” than a serialized comedy for new viewers.

Asked how Allen’s conservative politics had played into the show’s ABC cancellation, as had been much debated back when it happened, Fox co-chair Gary Newman came to that network’s defense.

“I’m not sure I think that ABC’s cancellation had anything to do with politics,” he said. “If anything, it had more to do with vertical integration,” he insisted, adding, “Tim’s personal politics are not a big feature of the show” which “never delved deeply” into politics.

“It’s a funny show and audiences responded to it,” he explained simply, saying now is the time to bring it back, after a season of dormancy, Fox having added "Thursday Night Football" to its arsenal.

ABC never really thought much of the show. That's why they dumped it on Friday. Never tried to let it grow.

ABC has a long history of making politically motivated decisions going back to the Clinton years.

I am convinced that ABC cancelled it because it was sick of the conservative views voiced by Tim Allen and his character. No TV network would have cancelled such a highly watched show in its prime.

FOX, which is right-leaning, picked it up for this very reason.

Tim Allen bombs before Fox upfront crowd, while Homer Simpson kills (https://www.thewrap.com/fox-upfront-homer-simpson-tim-allen-last-man-standing-simpsons/)
The Last Man Standing (http://www.tvguide.com/news/fox-new-shows-trailers-2018/) star and The Simpsons patriarch both addressed the upfront audience this afternoon, but Allen's joking about mayonnaise in the green room didn't go over well (https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/inside-new-foxs-upfront-nfl-gets-a-big-push-tim-allen-falls-flat-1111814). Meanwhile, Homer mentioned The Simpsons recently beating Gunsmoke's record, joking that he heard CBS just picked it up for a reboot. ALSO: Oddly, Fox's upfront presentation included bubble show L.A. to Vegas and previously canceled Pitch and 24. (https://twitter.com/Snoodit/status/996126929173401600)

You already recast the oldest daughter and aged up the grandson once and recast him. So let's backtrack for a moment here. Half the main cast is gone, it costed three more popular comedies to make room on the network, and the fact that it was only brought back to capitalize on the Roseanne viewers (and look how well that turned out for ABC).

it costed three more popular comedies to make room on the networkNone of those three comedies were popular, they were all ratings losers that deserved cancelled regardless of LMS coming back or not. A handful of critics loved them, but they were largely rejected by the public. Critics should not keep dictating what shows stay on the air.

I think they need a new actress to replace Kaitlyn Dever to play Eve better and also need a news actor to replace Tim Allen to play Mike at the same time.
