Nev Schulman’s long-running reality show is starting to stink, says Tara Ariano. "Even if you never had an especially high opinion of MTV’s Catfish — perfectly understandable and sensible! — I can tell you as someone who has watched every episode and covered it in-depth since the start of season two: The show has absolutely gotten worse."

MTV Halts "Catfish" Production Amid Sexual Misconduct Allegations against Host Nev Schulman
by Denise Petski
May 17, 2018
MTV has halted production on its popular series "Catfish" following sexual misconduct allegations against its host Nev Schulman.
“We take these allegations very seriously,” MTV said in a statement. “We’re working with Critical Content, our third-party production company, to conduct a thorough investigation and we’ve put a pause on shooting until the investigation is completed.”
Details of the allegations were not revealed. The accusations surfaced in two YouTube videos posted earlier this week by a woman who appeared on the show three years ago.
Schulman has denied the allegations. “The behavior described in this video did not happen and I’m fortunate that there are a number of former colleagues who were present during this time period who are willing to speak up with the truth,” Schulman said in a statement provided to Deadline.
“I have always been transparent about my life and would always take responsibility for my actions – but these claims are false.”

"Catfish" Host Nev Schulman Resumes Filming after Sexual Harassment Claims Found "Not Credible"
by Isaac Feldberg
June 22, 2018
"Catfish" is back on track after halting production amid allegations of sexual misconduct against host and executive producer Nev Schulman.
“Although we never received a formal complaint, MTV and Critical Content immediately engaged an independent third party investigator,” MTV said in a statement, per Us Weekly, which first reported the news. “The independent investigator found the allegations made in the YouTube videos to be not credible and without merit.”
“Given the results of the investigation, Catfish will resume filming,” the MTV statement added. “We take these matters very seriously and are committed to providing a safe working environment.”
