"Those hoping to catch lightning in a bottle twice, using the ABC revival as a model, should tread cautiously," says Brian Lowry. "Because trying to discern lessons from the show's success -- to identify a clear 'Roseanne effect' -- is no simple task, given all the factors that have played into the comedy's big debut, tempered by its slow but steady decline."

Roseanne has worked out so well because it has never left the air, after the first few seasons it aired on multiple networks or stations. People know these characters and watch to see how they have changed.

I can't think of another show other than Golden Girls that has done the same.

The Andy Griffith Show
I Love Lucy

Both have been in syndication for MANY years, as long as I can remember.

Last Man Standing hasn't left the airways since being cancelled by ABC.

Sure, but using the Golden Girls was a bad example since only one member of the cast is still living. And Last Man Standing is less than ten years old. Roseanne has aired constantly for almost 30 years and the cast is still around mostly.

Full House might be the only show like that and it was already continued.

Have you even watched the show. It's actually more liberal than conservative. It just shows that ALL families don't have the same political views.

You obviously don't watch the show. What about the 98% of the shows that have a liberal agenda?

Some posters here haven't seen this one (or the original) and yet are still bashing it to no end.

Last Man Standing hasn't left the airways since being cancelled by ABC.

Fox says it revived Tim Allen's Last Man Standing because it was "emboldened" by Roseanne's ratings, not politics (http://deadline.com/2018/05/last-man-standing-revive-fox-roseanne-ratings-tim-allen-upfronts-1202390309/)
“Everyone took a good hard look at the success of Roseanne,” said Fox Television Group CEO Dana Walden. “It reminded us we have a huge iconic star in our Fox family in Tim Allen. And we have been talking to Tim through the year ... So yeah, we were emboldened by the performance of Roseanne,” Walden said. “It made us think this is a good opportunity for broadcast viewers." He said it was easier to bring back a "beloved star" than to launch a brand-new comedy. Walden also said that just like ABC's cancelation decision had nothing to do with politics, Fox's pickup (https://www.tvtattle.com/item/Fox-officially-revives-Tim-Allens-Last-Man-Standing-2JSq6R) of Last Man Standing wasn't about the show being a hit with conservatives.
