On my singer/songwriters album I found a singer named Andrew Gold and I'm curious to know what became of Andrew Gold? The only songs I knew of his career were Lonely Boy and Thank You For Being A Friend which became more famous as the theme of The Golden Girls and later sung by Cynthia Fee. I do know that Andrew Gold became a guitarist and has played guitar for many popular artists before he passed away

His mother was singer Marni Nixon (who did the singing voices for many actresses) and his father was an Austrian-born composer who won an Academy Award for his Exodus movie score.

Andrew unfortunately passed away on June 3, 2011 from heart failure.
