It was late explained in the 2nd reunion movie that he was only cheap because he wanted to save money to go on trips and to treat Maggie once in awhile. One that I'm surprised wan't mentioned is alan harper from two and a half men. he comes to stay with charlie doesn't pay rent. charlie passes away and he still got to live in the beach house for nothing. the man rarely paid for anything besides alimony.
