I was watching Beaver the Caddy today, and I was thinking how much better this episode looked than most sitcoms would, simply because they went on location at a golf course.

A lot of times, I and others notice and write here about inconsistencies throughout the series. But, we wouldn't be watching if we didn't like the show.

Sometimes I've said they could have avoided many of the inconsistencies if they had a Script Continuity person on the staff. Other shows have this title in the credits. But these shows might not look as well-produced as LITB.

So, here's a totally hypothetical question: What if Connelly and Mosher had been told by their budget people, we can have a Script Continuity Person, or we can go on location as much as possible and make a better-produced show, but we don't have the budget to do both? Which would you have picked?

I'd pick have a more realistic-looking episode. I'd pick going on location. And, we'll go on enjoying the show, and grousing about things like Gates/Harrison/Bates.

I agree, for all our nit-picking and complaints, they are always what's heard loudest over all that we enjoy about this (and other of our favorite) series. Even though our positive feelings about our favorite shows far outweigh our grousing. It's just not normal for humans to report the good news for some reason, only the bad gets the publicity. :(

I can find complaints about ALL of my favorite TV shows but I still love them all the same. Guess it's like an old marriage, sure you can find a lot to complain about, but the positive will still outweigh, even if not mentioned.

OH, and how about this for a choice, either you have on-location shooting or you get good writing and scripts. I'd choose good scripts anytime over some back-screen shots. Hitchcock used loads of back-screen processed shots but the films are still masterpieces.:talk:

Yeah I don’t care if the continuity was off. It’s fun finding the misses. I wish they could have used more on location shots. Like in Beaver’s Frogs they were having fun falling into the pond. I read where Jerry’s mother was on location during the filming. I also wish they had better scripts too and made the dialogue more natural like Eddie’s lines.
