I don’t know if there was an unaired pilot or not. It seems like I remember reading about one somewhere but I’m not sure. I know the first aired pilot had them performing the song Together Having a Ball on stage for the intro.

How do you know if the Partridge Family had a unaired pilot.

Hey thanks for posting the clip of the unaired pilot i watch the clip last light night and it looks pretty much the same as the first episode but the only difference is that the dialoge is long and lost footage that was either cut deleted or not appearning in the first episode but the unaired pilot looks pretty much the same i think not including that unaired pilot would probably confused the audiance.

Thanks so much for posting. I’ve wanted to see this version of the pilot for years, ever since I found out it existed. Sony declined to put it on the season 1 DVD, because it was going to cost too much to restore.

And yeah, it mostly the same as the aired pilot, but some of the existing scenes are longer; there are extra scenes (like where “Connie” Partridge is dating a character played by Jack Cassidy); the Partridges are from Ohio, not California; and we get to see the original closing credits, rolling over footage of the bus traveling on the Pacific Coast Highway.
