Speaking of WTHH subjects (https://lebeauleblog.com/2013/08/23/what-the-hell-happened-to-ashley-judd/), Ashley Judd is celebrating her 50th birthday. Like Hudson, she is from a prominent entertainment industry family; her mother Naomi and older sister Wynonna formed the country music duo The Judds. Ashley Judd made her screen debut in 1991 in a pair of guest appearances on Star Trek: The Next Generation. She landed a recurring role on Sisters, and in 1992 made her feature film debut in Kuffs. Her breakout came a year later, when she starred as the title character in Ruby in Paradise, and received a number of acting accolades, including an Independent Spirit Award. She was cast in supporting roles in Michael Mann’s Heat and in the John Grisham adaptation A Time to Kill, and then in the late 1990s began a run of starring in a bunch of routine thrillers such as Kiss the Girls and Double Jeopardy. She also received Golden Globe and Emmy nominations for the 1996 HBO movie Norma Jean & Marilyn.

The subsequent course of Judd’s career is largely outlined in her WTHH article. These days, filmgoers are most likely to know her for playing Natalie Prior in the Divergent series. Television audiences may have caught her on season two of Berlin Station or in the Twin Peaks revival. She received her second career Golden Globe nomination for the 2004 feature De-Lovely, and her second Emmy nomination, for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries, for starring as Becca Winstone on the 2012 ABC midseason series Missing.
