I remember when Cosby went head to head with the Simpsons. I didn't know which to watch so I channel flipped up until Pam was introduced. Then the episodes that focused on Pam and her friends just killed it for me. I was like, "What is this s*it?" Like I give a damn about these new characters? And where the hell did Vanessa go?

Who was Pam? I watched Cosby during its original run, but lost interest in the later shows.

Claire's cousin. She came to live with the Huxtables because her mother was caring for her sick grandmother. She was a horrible and pointless addition to the show.

I thought it was strange the way she was introduced to the show..she had local friends and knew the area so she obviously grew up near the Huxtables...it seemed odd that she was introducing herself to her cousins like they had never met before.

Anyway,,the Pam character was useless. Obviously Vanessa had gone to college so they felt the need to bring in another teen.

They did the same thing when Rudy got older by bringing in 4 year old Olivia.

I like her pretty much, I liked her friend and her friend's boyfriend much better....I think pam's introduction linked the new characters for the other sitcom A different world.

I do agree that Pam was sort of pointless (they would have been better off focusing on the Huxtable kids, instead). But I think she's very likeable, and Erika Alexander is very attractive. I like that raspy voice, too.

when I say she was a linking character for new characters on A different world remember that in the last 2 seasons of the show pams friends-lance and Sharmane came to Hillman college.

Pam was alright with me, I agree that it wasn't good that she took away storylines from Vanessa or any of the other Huxtable kids, but she didn't really bother me.

I believe that when they brought Pam in the show really went downhill because the didn't really have good storylines, the family was starting to split apart and go there separate ways and that is why shortly after that the show was cancelled. But I have to give, Pam some sort of Props---Ericka Alexander is a great actress and I absolutely loved her in "Living Single"!!!:happyface

Pam wuz sometimes cool and sometimes annoying. I think it was cool to add someone who grew up with almost nuthin and put her in this huge house. But she did get annoying.

i thought pam was a good addition to the show. She was the realest kid there. All of the cosby children were all nice, but obviously spoiled, despite the attempts by claire and cliff to stop that, it didn't work. pam was real, and that's why her story lines reflected real things that happens in a girl like her life. It could have been better sure, but it was still good, it was just different from what everyone was used to. i don't think that made it bad though.

Yeah, you are right the show had to change with the times and Pam came at the right time. I thought she was good addition to the show.
