CBS Renews 11 Returning Series
by Nellie Andreeva
April 18, 2018
CBS has renewed eleven returning series for 2018-19, including its entire Friday lineup of dramas "MacGyver", "Hawaii Five-O" and "Blue Bloods".
While "MacGyver" has not necessarily been a critical darling, it has done respectable business on Friday and has done well internationally for CBS based on its recognizable title and popcorn, procedural nature. It draws a respectable 8.5 million viewers and has been able to reenergize CBS’ Friday drama lineup when it joined it last season.
"MacGyver" will return for its third season.

Isn't there a forum on here for the new MacGyver?

I do not like the revised MacGyver TV series. It a team effort with romance and a women short stature as the boss. It sort of a IMF plot to it with each team has a specialize area of expertise. It is also serialized with a super antagonist that goes on for 6-10 episodes from mid season one to end of two. Ramance is between two team nerds - one guy chasing the gal for 12 episodes but ends up not getting her and now he is in "friend zone." LOL!

Totally agree. It's nowhere NEAR as good as the original but unfortunately we're not in the 80s anymore. For this day & age it's watchable if there's nothing else on.
Agree the midget lady is an awful choice. Who is turned on by that?? Also Justin Hires is totally miscast & you can tell he doesn't jive with the rest of the cast. Purely done for political correctness.

Actually, he's not working for the little boss anymore. I just now got around to watching the finale for the second season and was wondering if there would be a third season since it ended with him quitting the Phoenix Foundation. I thought that was odd because in the original one with Richard Dean Anderson, he worked for the Phoenix Foundation up until the series finale.
Take care. God loves you.

I just saw the season finale on DVR. It's definitely not as good as the original but it's better than any other action/drama on today so I'll watch it when I can.
Why doesn't the new MacGyver have its own section??

When is are they going to air the premier for the third season of MacGyver? I checked listings, and they don't even have listings.
Take care and God bless.
