CHCH in Hamilton, Ontario will continue its successful retro lineup all through the summer but it will look a lot different than what it did in the fall, when most of the great shows it had on then are about to end. Here is what it looked like last month when the Monkees replaced the Partridge Family on the schedule:

MARCH 2018

10:00 am The Bob Newhart Show
10:30 I Dream Of Jeannie
11:00 Newhart

4:00 pm Batman
4:30 Bewitched
5:00 The Monkees
5:30 The Mary Tyler Moore Show

Now get ready for a few surprises as I show you what the lineup will look like by the end of next month. A couple of them are shows that I would have told you about earlier. The others I just discovered today, and here they are with premiere dates included for all, except Bewitched which remains intact:

CHCH May-Sept. 2018

10:00 am Charlie's Angels (March 28)
11:00 am Batman (May 24) (Moved from 4 pm)

4:00 pm Soap (May 24)
4:30 Bewitched
5:00 Barney Miller (April 20)
5:30 Who's The Boss? (May 10)

That's quite a shakeup for the spring! Imagine what the fall might bring! That won't be revealed until their official upfront day on May 30 (My Birthday!). I'll have full details soon afterwards.

Thanks, but unfortunately I don't like this lineup as much as the others.

Who's the Boss is a major step down from the MTM show. Batman should still be in the same time slot. The other replacements I didn't mind.

I am disappointed to hear that Who's the Boss is replacing MTM but I do like Soap and Barney Miller.

I hope CHCH continues to add retro shows to their line up.

I agree with both of you about the upcoming changes. I have never liked "Who's The Boss?" and I won't be watching it at all. I have no idea why Batman was moved except that they must really love it and want to keep it and this will also allow for more shows to be added in the afternoon in its place.

During the fall, I wouldn't be surprised if they go with an expanded retro lineup, like adding something at 11:30 am for example, which would give them 2 hour retro blocks in both the mornings and afternoons, or even adding shows to the weekends. That may have already begun. Starting this weekend, Barney Miller will have episodes on both Saturday and Sunday at 5:00 pm, along with their weekday episodes which will begin next Friday. So, if you like the show, you can now see it 7 days a week at the same time. As for me, the only new show that I will want to see will be Soap, since I thought it was a very funny show when it was at its peak in the late 70s.

Hopefully, next fall's lineup will be as good as what they had out last Sept. We'll have to wait another month and a half to find out.
