The Affair star and Dawson's Creek alum and Stephen Colbert have something in common: they both owe their careers to Jon Stewart. Jackson was in high school during the 1994-95 school year coinciding with The Jon Stewart Show's only season in syndication, when it replaced The Arsenio Hall Show. Stewart's show didn't air until 1:30 a.m. where Jackson lived. "So I would stay up every night to watch the 1:30 show, which kept me up to 2:30, which meant that clearly I wasn’t gonna make my first class, so I just didn't," Jackson tells Colbert. "When I did that enough, they were like, ‘Well since you don’t want to come in the morning, you might as well not come in the afternoon, either.’”
