View Full Version : Horror movie sequels you haven't seen
Torgo 04-06-2018, 07:02 PM I've decided to watch some of the horror franchises that I haven't watched completely, I'm not including remakes, just sequels/spin offs/prequels.
Right now I'm watching the Children Of The Corn franchise:
Children Of The Corn (1984)
Children of the Corn II: The Final Sacrifice (1992)
Children of the Corn III: Urban Harvest (1995)
Children of the Corn: The Gathering (1996)
Children of the Corn V: Fields of Terror (1998)
Children of the Corn 666: Isaac's Return (1999)
Children of the Corn: Revelation (2001)
Children of the Corn: Genesis (2011)
Children of the Corn: Runaway (2018)
The ones in bold are the ones I had already seen.
Next I'm thinking about watching the Amityville Horror films. I've only seen the first 3, and Amityville Dollhouse (though it's been so long I don't remember it), there are a few films that use the Amityville title to try and cash in, but I won't watch those, only the ones listed as sequels on IMDB.
The Amityville Horror (1979)
Amityville II: The Possession (1982)
Amityville 3-D (1983)
Amityville: The Evil Escapes (1989)
The Amityville Curse (1990)
Amityville 1992: It's About Time (1992)
Amityville: A New Generation (1993)
Amityville Dollhouse (1996)
The Amityville Asylum (2013)
Amityville: The Awakening (2017)
Torgo 04-09-2018, 09:02 AM Some of the other horror franchises I'm contemplating watching in their entirety (I'm mainly thinking of franchises that have more than 2 sequels):
Hellraiser - I've only seen the first 3, and the one set in space, I know as a whole the later sequels have a bad reputation, though I do want to see Hellraiser: Hellworld (thanks to JamesG's recommendation) (10 films)
The Ringu and Ju-On franchises, they did a crossover movie Sadako vs. Kayako (2016), which I've been curious about, a few months ago I started to watch them both, but got sidetracked somewhere. (12 films combined)
Whispering Corridors (5 films)
All Night Long aka Ooru naito rongu (6 films)

Are some of these Japanese movies?
Torgo 04-10-2018, 08:47 AM Are some of these Japanese movies?
The Ringu, Ju-On, and All Night Long films are Japanese, and the Whispering Corridor films are Korean.
Torgo 04-10-2018, 10:32 AM I watched the first film in this series, and really liked it. It's shot like a home movie about a serial killer couple as they film their murders. One of the rare times I've been disturbed by a film.
Head Case (2007)
The Ritual (2009)
Post-Mortem (2010)
Head Cases: Serial Killers in the Delaware Valley (2013)
Edited to add:
S.K.I.N.S.: Serial Killers in Need of Support (2009)
Evidently this is a spin off.
.
Torgo 04-10-2018, 10:40 AM Children Of The Corn (1984)
Children of the Corn II: The Final Sacrifice (1992)
Children of the Corn III: Urban Harvest (1995)
Children of the Corn: The Gathering (1996)
Children of the Corn V: Fields of Terror (1998)
Children of the Corn 666: Isaac's Return (1999)
Children of the Corn: Revelation (2001)
Children of the Corn: Genesis (2011)
Children of the Corn: Runaway (2018)
Just have 3 more to watch. Only one I haven't liked, which was part V, granted none of them are classics, but at such short running times (average of about 80 mins) they haven't been boring. V was mainly because of the bad choice for the child villain, and the silly reason he became the way he did.
JamesG 04-11-2018, 01:42 PM There are a lot of franchises where I haven't seen all of the sequel films:
Children of the Corn
Return of the Living Dead
The Conjuring
Insidious
Paranormal Activity
The Amityville Horror
The Omen
Wrong Turn
Resident Evil (I have no interest in continuing with them)
REC
The Prophecy
These are the ones where I haven't seen the more recent sequels:
Child's Play
Phantasm
Blair Witch
Hatchet
Mr. Television 04-11-2018, 02:05 PM There are a lot of franchises where I haven't seen all of the sequel films:
Children of the Corn
Final Destination
Return of the Living Dead
The Conjuring
Insidious
Paranormal Activity
The Amityville Horror
The Omen
Wrong Turn
Resident Evil (I have no interest in continuing with them)
REC
The Prophecy
These are the ones where I haven't seen the more recent sequels:
Child's Play
Phantasm
Blair Witch
Hatchet
It's funny I've seen the first 2 Omen films and liked them but I've never seen the third one. I guess it helps that I haven't heard good things about it.
Torgo 04-11-2018, 03:16 PM There are a lot of franchises where I haven't seen all of the sequel films:
Children of the Corn
Final Destination Have seen all them, fun movies.
Return of the Living Dead Saw 4, awful, didn't bother with 5.
The Conjuring Seen all the ones released, I like the franchise.
Insidious Haven't seen any of them.
Paranormal Activity Have only seen the first one, but thought about watching the franchise since my daughter owns all of them.
The Amityville Horror Just need to get ahold of the more recent two then I'll have them all to watch.
The Omen Have only seen the first 3, I like the first 2, don't really remember the 3rd one all that well.
Wrong Turn Seen the first two, and the one with Doug Bradley- that one turned me off of the rest of the films, the make up was so bad it was laughable.
Resident Evil (I have no interest in continuing with them) Saw the first and one of the later sequels, couldn't tell you which one. Would love to have seen what George Romero would have done with the first when he was originally attached.
REC Have seen the original franchise but not the American version, think there are only two in that series?
The Prophecy Saw the first one, I like Walken but just couldn't get into it.
These are the ones where I haven't seen the more recent sequels:
Child's Play Curse and Cult Of Chucky are well worth watching, don't watch Cult on Netflix as it's the cut version.
Phantasm Did see Ravager...had its moments, but as a whole, was a letdown, felt too much like Coscarelli was trying to make it like Bubba Ho Tep.
Blair Witch You're not missing anything.
Hatchet Yeah, bit of a letdown, Felissa Rose was the best part, she was hilarious.
I know there's more franchises I haven't seen in their entirety yet, some I have no desire to watch the rest like- the Witchcraft films which they've made new ones.
JamesG 04-11-2018, 08:01 PM I know there's more franchises I haven't seen in their entirety yet, some I have no desire to watch the rest like- the Witchcraft films which they've made new ones.
I know you have no interest in the SAW franchise, right?
And yeah, Romero's Resident Evil film could have been great. (He directed a Japan-only commercial for Resident Evil 2 aka Biohazard 2)
Torgo 04-11-2018, 09:46 PM I know you have no interest in the SAW franchise, right?
And yeah, Romero's Resident Evil film could have been great. (He directed a Japan-only commercial for Resident Evil 2 aka Biohazard 2)
I've actually been thinking about Saw, that's another franchise my daughter owns, so the convenience is there, I might give it another shot.
Romero was attached to quite a few movies that ended up with other directors, like Pet Sematary.
Torgo 04-11-2018, 11:25 PM The Howling is another franchise I haven't seen all of the films, and I've been wanting to watch some of the later sequels. I've seen parts I-III, I think part IV.
The Howling (1981)
Howling II: ... Your Sister Is a Werewolf (1985)
The Marsupials: The Howling III (1987)
Howling IV: The Original Nightmare (1988)
Howling V: The Rebirth (1989)
Howling VI: The Freaks (1991)
Howling: New Moon Rising (1995)
The Howling: Reborn (2011)
Back when Part III was first released on VHS that became one of my most watched horror films. I know a lot of people love part II as a so bad it's good flick, but for me it's the 3rd one. I love it's almost surreal vibe, the werewolf effects by Bob McCarron, the idea of marsupial werewolves, the mythology behind them.
The white werewolf is one of my favorite film werewolves.
Torgo 04-11-2018, 11:35 PM I haven't seen any of the films in this Chinese franchise, the first film is an anthology, I don't know if all the films are, but there are 19, these might be a little harder to get a hold of all the films, and also finding English subtitled versions.
Troublesome Night (1997)
Troublesome Night 2 (1997)
Troublesome Night 3 (1998)
Troublesome Night 4 (1998)
Troublesome Night 5 (1999)
Troublesome Night 6 (1999)
Troublesome Night 7 (2000)
Troublesome Night 8 (2001)
Troublesome Night 9 (2001)
Yin yang lu shi: Xuan yan zhou (2001)
Troublesome Night 11 (2001)
Troublesome Night 12 (2001)
Troublesome Night 14 (2002)
Troublesome Night 13: Flower Ghost (2002)
Troublesome Night 15 (2002)
Yin yang lu shi liu zhi hui dao wu xia shi dai (2002)
Yin yang lu shi qi zhi jian fang you gui (2002)
Yin yang lu shi ba zhi Gui shang shen (2003)
Troublesome Night 19 (2003)
Torgo 04-12-2018, 12:48 PM Here are the franchises I've seen all of the films (again, mainly just going with ones with more than 2 sequels):
Friday The 13th
Halloween
Alien
A Nightmare On Elm Street
Scream
Romero's Dead films
Psycho
Hatchet
House
Blind Dead series
Universal's Monster films
Ghoulies
Critters
Child's Play
The Exorcist
Silent Night Deadly Night
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Sleepaway Camp
Zombi (Italian zombie franchise)
Hammer's Dracula
Hammer's Frankenstein
Prom Night
Toxic Avenger (if they count as horror)
Trancers ( if they count, the first two are at least horror-esque)
REC
VHS (since I'm including spin offs- VHS, VHS 2, VHS Viral, SiREN)
Jaws
Have watched all but one:
Class Of Nuke 'em High (Haven't seen Return to Nuke 'Em High Volume 2)
Tremors (Haven't seen the 6th one yet)
JamesG 04-14-2018, 09:28 PM Some sequels I haven't seen yet that were overlooked the first time:
- I haven't seen Ouija (2014) and its prequel, Ouija: Origin of Evil (2016)
* There seem to be unofficial oversees sequels - U.K.'s Ouija 3: The Charlie Charlie Challenge (2016) (which is simply a re-titled Charlie Charlie) and Hong Kong's Ouija 4 (2015) (a re-titled Are You Here?).
- Strangers: Prey at Night (2018)
- The Purge: Election Year (2016)
* Prequel The First Puge is due for July 8th and they are also working on a tv-series.
- Piranha 3DD (2012)
- The Human Centipede 3 (Final Sequence) (2015)
- Quarantine 2: Terminal (2011)
- I've only seen the original Cabin Fever (2002)
- See No Evil 2 (2014)
* I didn't care for the original, but the sequel was directed by the Soska Sisters and features Danielle Harris and Katherine Isabelle so I wouldn't mind seeing this one.
- The Woman in Black: Angel of Death (2014)
Torgo 04-16-2018, 08:44 AM Some sequels I haven't seen yet that were overlooked the first time:

I saw Charlie Charlie, there's 2 movies with the same title based on the same urban legend, the other one has Tom Sizemore and Erick Roberts, the unofficial sequel I didn't think was very good.
Haven't seen the prequel yet, but I like the director Mike Flanagan, who has a good track record so far (though I haven't seen his films prior to Absentia), but so far I've liked Absentia, Oculus, Hush, Before I Wake, and his adaptation of Stephen King's Gerald's Game, and he's now adapting King's sequel to The Shining- Doctor Sleep.
- Strangers: Prey at Night (2018)
Curious about this one. I like the original.
- The Purge: Election Year (2016)
* Prequel The First Puge is due for July 8th and they are also working on a tv-series.
I liked Election Year, want to see the prequel when released.
- Piranha 3DD (2012)
Best part of Hasselhoff making fun of himself.
- The Human Centipede 3 (Final Sequence) (2015)
Love Dieter Laser's performance as the warden, all the performances were good, but there just wasn't enough human centipeding, almost seemed an afterthought.
- Quarantine 2: Terminal (2011)
- I've only seen the original Cabin Fever (2002)
I enjoy the sequels, Cabin Fever 2 is a lot of fun, Ti West was unhappy with it since the studio made changes without his involvement. The prequel Patient Zero with Sean Astin is also really good. There was going to be another sequel shot the same time as Patient Zero which was scrapped and a remake was made instead, which was awful.
- See No Evil 2 (2014)
* I didn't care for the original, but the sequel was directed by the Soska Sisters and features Danielle Harris and Katherine Isabelle so I wouldn't mind seeing this one.
I've debated, didn't like the original, and though I enjoyed their WWE Studios movie Vendetta with Dean Cain, it could have been directed by anyone.
I am curious about their upcoming remake of Rabid.
- The Woman in Black: Angel of Death (2014)
I thought it was decent. No where as good as the first one, but still worth watching I thought.
Torgo 04-16-2018, 12:30 PM Here are the franchises I've seen all of the films (again, mainly just going with ones with more than 2 sequels):

Have watched all but one:
Class Of Nuke 'em High (Haven't seen Return to Nuke 'Em High Volume 2)
Tremors
(Haven't seen the 6th one yet)
Can now add the Children Of The Corn franchise to all sequels
watched.
Forgot to add this to my above list, don't think the franchise has a name but the films are:
Brides of Blood (1968)
Mad Doctor of Blood Island (1968)
Blood Devils (1970)
Brain of Blood (1971)
Torgo 04-16-2018, 01:00 PM Here's some sequels I haven't seen:
I Spit on Your Grave 2 (2013)
I Spit on Your Grave: Vengeance is Mine (2015)
I do want to watch them as I liked the 2010 remake, just for whatever reason haven't gotten to them yet.
Lost Boys: The Tribe (2008)
Lost Boys: The Thirst (2010)
Wasn't really a fan of the original, so I never bothered with the 2 sequels.
Porkchop II: Rise of the Rind (2011)
Porkchop 3D (2012)
Pig Girl (2014)
Watched Porkchop (2010), didn't like it, watched another movie by the director titled Zombie Babies, it was horrendous, think that's all I want to see by him.
The 2 sequels to Caesar and Otto's Summer Camp Massacre
Caesar and Otto's Deadly Xmas and Caesar and Otto's Paranormal Halloween, I enjoyed the first one for silly mindless fun, but I started watching Deadly Xmas, it was so badly done I shut it off 15 mins in.
Screaming for Sanity: Truth or Dare 3 (1998)
Deadly Dares: Truth or Dare Part IV (2011)
I Dared You! Truth or Dare Part 5
Truth Or Dare: A Critical Madness is one of my favorite 80's shot-on-video films, also watched part 2 aka Wicked Games, but never watched the others, and there is a 5th in the works.
And the rest...
The Grudge (American remake) sequels
The Ring (American remake) sequels
Vacancy 2 (though I liked the first)
Anaconda sequels
Boogeyman (2005) sequels
Gingerdead Man sequels
Gutterballs 2: Balls Deep (enjoyed the first, just haven't gotten around to this one)
Lake Placid sequels (love the first)
Return to House on Haunted Hill
Cold Prey III (Love the first 2, just haven't seen this one yet)
Pumpkinhead 3 and 4
30 Days of Night: Dark Days
Fright Night 2 (2013)
Underworld sequels
JamesG 04-16-2018, 01:06 PM Another one I haven't seen all of are the Faces of Death series.
I think I've only seen the first two.
Torgo 04-16-2018, 03:12 PM Another one I haven't seen all of are the Faces of Death series.
I think I've only seen the first two.
Oh yeah, I've only seen the first 3, that was back in the 80's and they weren't easy to find, at least where I lived so I watched 3rd or 4th generation copies.
A few years ago JT Petty (The Burrowers, Mimic: Sentinel, Soft For Digging) announced he was going to direct a remake. That obviously never happened.
There was also Faces Of Gore, but I've never seen any of those, I think there were 3.
JamesG 04-16-2018, 03:33 PM ^ How about Subspecies? There are 4 films and the Vampire Journals spin-off.
Torgo 04-16-2018, 06:30 PM ^ How about Subspecies? There are 4 films and the Vampire Journals spin-off.
I've seen part II, I've been meaning to watch the rest, and I've been curious about Vampire Journals.

I've seen all the classic Universal monsters too.
I've seen Brides of Dracula, but unfortunately that's it, and that's like Dracula without Dracula himself.
I've seen Revenge and Evil of Frankenstein of the Hammers.
Torgo 04-17-2018, 08:38 AM I've seen all the classic Universal monsters too.
I've seen Brides of Dracula, but unfortunately that's it, and that's like Dracula without Dracula himself.
I've seen Revenge and Evil of Frankenstein of the Hammers.
Nice! As a whole the Universal franchise is great, can't say there's any films in it I don't like.
Both Hammer franchises are worth checking out, even if some of the later ones aren't the greatest. Sadly the last of the Dracula films The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires- another actor plays the role of Dracula, but it's still a good film, and interesting as it was the team up of Hammer Studios, and Shaw Brothers Studios, so you get a blend of Hammer horror and martial arts.
Torgo 04-17-2018, 05:23 PM Next I'm thinking about watching the Amityville Horror films. Amityville: A New Generation (1993)
Amityville Dollhouse (1996)
The Amityville Asylum (2013)
Amityville: The Awakening (2017)
I'm going to watch all horror movies with Amityville in the title, so now including to my watch list...
The Amityville Haunting (2011)
Amityville Death House (2015)
The Amityville Playhouse (2015)
Amityville: Vanishing Point (2016)
The Amityville Legacy (2016)
The Amityville Terror (2016)
Have already watched Amityville: No Escape (2016) a few months ago.

I'd love to see Sven get more Hammer Dracula movies.
JamesG 04-19-2018, 02:18 AM Torgo, I know you said you're not including remakes/reboots here but have you've seen Syfy's 2009 version of Children of the Corn?
I found some more sequels I didn't previously mention:
- The Warlock Sequels (2-3)
- The direct-to-video sequel I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer
- Prom Night III and IV
- 976-EVIL 2
- The Sometimes They Come Back Sequels (2-3)
- Stepfather III
- The Legend of Boggy Creek Sequels
Torgo 04-19-2018, 08:55 AM Torgo, I know you said you're not including remakes/reboots here but have you've seen Syfy's 2009 version of Children of the Corn?
I have, I like it, though the kid playing Isaac isn't creepy, made you appreciate John Franklin.
I found some more sequels I didn't previously mention:
- The Warlock Sequels (2-3)
I've seen the second one, don't remember if I've seen the third. I liked part 2, though I haven't seen it since the 90's.
- The direct-to-video sequel I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer
Me either.
- Prom Night III and IV
Part 2 is the best of the sequels, but weirdly I've enjoyed the whole franchise.
- 976-EVIL 2
Stinkfest.
- The Sometimes They Come Back Sequels (2-3)
I don't think I have seen the sequels.
- Stepfather III
Part 2 was a fun sequel. Didn't watch III because no Terry O'Quinn. Still haven't seen the remake.
- The Legend of Boggy Creek Sequels
Seen Return To Boggy Creek way back in the 80's. Boggy Creek II I've seen multiple times through Mystery Science Theater 3000, it's hilarious. I didn't realize there was one from 2011, I did start watching the 2010 remake, but fell asleep and I've never gone back to it.
Torgo 04-19-2018, 11:41 AM More sequels I haven't seen...
Psycho Cop Returns (1993)
Graveyard Shift II (1988) Not the rat flick.
Son of Darkness: To Die for II (1991)
American Psycho II: All American Girl (2002)
From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter (1999)
Any of the Wishmaster sequels
Urban Legends: Bloody Mary (2005), Ghosts of Goldfield (2007)
The Dentist 2 (1998)
The Last Exorcism Part II (2013)
Hollow Man II (2006)
Messengers 2: The Scarecrow (2009)
Chromeskull: Laid to Rest 2 (2011)
The Wicker Tree (2011)
Toolbox Murders 2 (2013)
Class of 1999 II: The Substitute (1994)
The Terror Within II (1991)
No Man's Land: The Rise of Reeker (2008) sequel to Reeker (2005)
The Mirror, Mirror sequels
The Mangler sequels
Camp Blood sequels
Haven't seen any of these:
Bikini Bloodbath (2006), Bikini Bloodbath Car Wash (2008), Bikini Bloodbath Christmas (2009)
Amateur Porn Star Killer (2006), Amateur Porn Star Killer 2 (2008), Amateur Porn Star Killer 3: The Final Chapter (2009)
JamesG 04-19-2018, 05:58 PM ^ I noticed you didn't include Puppet Master in your franchises.
I believe you told me you have no interest in the newer ones, right? I'm curious about the new Littlest Reich, but I wasn't impressed w/ the teaser footage that's been released.
JamesG 04-19-2018, 06:09 PM American Psycho II: All American Girl (2002)
:thumbsdow
I wanted to see it just to see Mila Kunis go around killing people, lol. It was one of those projects that was originally meant to be something else and then they stamped "American Psycho" on it for marketing.
Mila Kunis said she had no idea they did that until after it was released.
From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter (1999)
Not related to this, but have you've seen any of "From Dusk till Dawn: The Series"?
I also have to catch up on "Ash vs. Evil Dead".
Torgo 04-20-2018, 10:33 AM :thumbsdow

That seems to happen quite a bit with sequels, or they're re released as a sequel years later, or in other countries, like with The Horror show being released outside America as House III.
Sounds like I didn't miss anything with that sequel.
Not related to this, but have you've seen any of "From Dusk till Dawn: The Series"?

I've seen a handful of eps of From Dusk Till Dawn and liked them, been meaning to check out the entire series.
I love Ash Vs Evil Dead, haven't seen the 3rd season yet, but own the first and second. Definitely made up for the awful remake/reboot/sequel thingy. Though if they had done the crossover movie with Ash and the girl from the remake I probably would have watched it.

There is a box set out there that features the 3 films, so that last one is officially part of the series.
It has no real connection at all with the others. They do a little homage by briefly featuring the classic way the hunters kill the vampires w/ the cable pulling them into the sunlight. That's it.

Ah thanks, I'll probably pass on that one.

I haven't seen the newest one either. I like Trent Haaga, haven't seen all the films he's written, but love Deadgirl and Cheap Thrills. Haven't seen all the films he acts in, but I've enjoyed Suburban Nightmare, Bonnie & Clyde vs. Dracula, and of course his Troma stuff.

Witches Blood (2014)
Hayride Slaughter (2001)
Hayride Slaughter II (2003)
Torgo 04-30-2018, 08:44 AM I'm going to watch all horror movies with Amityville in the title, so now including to my watch list...

I've now watched all films with Amityville in the title. My favorites are The Amityville Horror 1-3, Amityville 1992: It's About Time, Amityville: A New Generation, and The Amityville Terror.
Least favorite would be Amityville: Vanishing Point, a painful experience.

Brain of Blood (1971)
Can now add The Amityville Horror franchise to my completed list.

JamesG 04-30-2018, 10:38 PM Another "loose trilogy" are the Tales from the Crypt feature films Demon Knight, Bordello of Blood and Ritual.
Many people I've spoken with don't know about the 3rd film.

Yeah I'd only learned there was a 3rd within the last few years.
Torgo 05-02-2018, 12:44 PM Another unofficial trilogy I've seen is the Beyond The Door series:
(Both sequels were retitled to cash in on the success of Beyond The Door)
Beyond The Door (1974)
Beyond The Door II (1977) Original title- Shock
Beyond The Door III (1989) Original title- Amok Train
JamesG 05-16-2018, 12:36 AM I found out the horrible film I saw recently, The Invoking (2013), has a few sequels. I have no interest in them, the first was enough lol.
The Invoking 2 (2015)
The Invoking: Paranormal Dimension (2016)
The Invoking 4 (2017)
JamesG 05-16-2018, 12:49 AM I've seen a handful of eps of From Dusk Till Dawn and liked them, been meaning to check out the entire series.
I love Ash Vs Evil Dead, haven't seen the 3rd season yet, but own the first and second. Definitely made up for the awful remake/reboot/sequel thingy. Though if they had done the crossover movie with Ash and the girl from the remake I probably would have watched it.
Since we were talking about horror TV series, I forgot to mention Wolf Creek.
Have you seen any of it?

JamesG 05-19-2018, 05:18 PM Didn't see the Bad Kids Go to Hell (2012) sequel Bad Kids of Crestview Academy (2017).
Ben Browder (Max the Janitor) directed and appeared w/ Bad Kids writer Barry Wernick on board. Cameron Deane Stewart reprised as Matt Clark.
JamesG 06-03-2018, 02:19 PM I still have to see The Houses October Built 2.
I also haven't seen The ABCs of Death films.
JamesG 06-19-2018, 11:52 PM Torgo, were you aware there is a Paranormal Activity game? I was in GameStop recently and spotted it. I didn't hear anything about it.

Wasn't aware of it either.
Reminds me of the Blair Witch Project games that were release back in the early 2000's, seemed they came out with little notice. I got them in the Blair Witch Project Box Set that came with the first two movies, and the 3 games.

That's cool. I know about the Blair Witch games, but never played them.
Another horror game many don't know about was The Ring: Terror's Realm (2000) for the Dreamcast. The game was not a success as the Japanese novels/film weren't widely known to Western audiences at the time. It also got bad critical reviews.
The American remake came out in 2002.

I only played the first one, Rustin Parr, got frustrating and confusing, sort of a knock off of games like Alone In The Dark.
Those I weren't aware of.
Just recently reinstalled Land Of The Dead: Road To Fiddler's Green, got a lot of bad reviews, but I think it's a fun diversion, haven't played it in years.
JamesG 06-22-2018, 04:42 PM Dracula 2000 had two direct-to-video sequels, Ascension (2003) and Legacy (2005), that I haven't seen.
Just to note that there is a film called Dracula 3000 (2004), but it isn't related to this.
JamesG 06-26-2018, 02:07 PM Haven't seen Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, Part II (1996).
JamesG 07-30-2018, 12:07 PM Another more recent one I forgot to mention was the new Ring film, Rings, from 2017.
Torgo 10-08-2018, 12:51 PM Searching for horror films to watch this month, became aware of a sequel I didn't know existed.
Kuutamosonaatti 2: Kadunlakaisijat (1991) aka Moonlight Sonata II: The Street Sweepers (1991), which is a sequel to the 1988 Finnish backwoods horror film Kuutamosonaatti.
Enjoyed the first one, so I want to track this sequel down.
JamesG 01-03-2019, 01:40 PM These are the ones where I haven't seen the more recent sequels:
Child's Play
Phantasm
Blair Witch
Hatchet
I got around to Blair Witch and it wasn't that good.
Torgo 01-04-2019, 12:00 PM I got around to Blair Witch and it wasn't that good.
Considering who made it, I was really looking forward to it. It had some good ideas.
There's a fun short film called Four Corners Of Fear. Directed by Eduardo Sanchez, and starring Michael C Williams and Joshua Leonard. It's done like a mockumentary, the makers of the original Blair Witch decide to make Blair Witch 3. Everything goes wrong, continuity is awful, they can't get Heather back so they cast Tom Cruise (the guy playing Tom was pretty good)

There's another mockumentary I haven't seen yet. It's called The Burkitsville 7 based on that fictional child killer (I forget his name).

Rustin Parr. I like that one.
There's also a feature length fan film called The Blair Witch Legacy about a group of friends that try to find out if The Blair Witch was real or not. I thought it was pretty good.
Torgo 01-08-2019, 12:27 AM Hobgoblins 2 (2009)
Horror House on Highway 6 (2014) - From the same director as the previous film Horror House On Highway 5 (1985)

Torgo 04-17-2019, 10:39 AM ^ I noticed you didn't include Puppet Master in your franchises.
I believe you told me you have no interest in the newer ones, right? I'm curious about the new Littlest Reich, but I wasn't impressed w/ the teaser footage that's been released.
Exactly one year later I reply. I want to see this one mainly for the fact it was written by S. Craig Zahler, who wrote and directed Bone Tomahawk, which I love. Still haven't seen two of his films- Brawl in Cell Block 99 and Dragged Across Concrete.

JamesG 08-09-2020, 09:14 AM - The direct-to-video sequel I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer

Torgo 08-18-2020, 05:04 PM Here are the franchises I've seen all of the films (again, mainly just going with ones with more than 2 sequels):
Friday The 13th
Halloween
Alien

Psycho
Hatchet
House
Blind Dead series
Universal's Monster films
Ghoulies
Critters
Child's Play
The Exorcist
Silent Night Deadly Night
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Sleepaway Camp
Zombi (Italian zombie franchise)
Hammer's Dracula

Don't know if it's an official sequel or not, but:

Christopher 08-22-2020, 09:00 AM The Strangers: Prey At Night
What did you think of this one? I watched it a few times because I enjoyed it. I thought it was a lot better than the first one. In the first one, the main setting is in the house. It's also just Liv Tyler in a lot of scenes being terrified. I didn't care much for that. I like that the sequel showed more menacing behavior from the strangers and moved around to different areas. It added to the excitement. I also like that there were more characters for the strangers to go after. If they ever do another one, I hope the follow the format of the sequel than how the first one was.
The Curse of La Llorona (2019) And I will see it, but I've been thinking about re watching the entire franchise again and will watch it then.
I had no idea this movie even existed until earlier this year. Was it promoted at all? After watching it, I ended up liking it. I think you'll like it if you enjoy the Conjuring movies. I have digital copies of the movies so I put them in order by the year each movie takes place. It helps the story flow better this way.
Saw this one, wasn't great. Not that I expected it would be.
I didn't care for I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer either. I saw it when it came out but blocked out the whole movie. I saw it last year and forgot who the killer was. It shouldn't be considered in this franchise with the change of direction the movie took IMO.

It was a really dumb revelation... the killer was the ghost of Ben Willis (the fisherman).

I liked the sequel quite a bit. Glad they didn't just rehash the first film like some sequels do. And I liked the location instead of just being at one house.
I keep saying I'll watch La Llorona when I watch the franchise again, and keep not doing it, but I will because I do enjoy the films.

I have. It was under 'The Amityville Murders' title. I thought it was decent. Diane Franklin and Burt Young who were
in Amityville 2, were both in this.
Torgo 10-07-2020, 12:33 PM Here's some sequels I haven't seen:
I Spit on Your Grave 2 (2013)
I Spit on Your Grave: Vengeance is Mine (2015)
I do want to watch them as I liked the 2010 remake, just for whatever reason haven't gotten to them yet.
Lost Boys: The Tribe (2008)
Lost Boys: The Thirst (2010)
Wasn't really a fan of the original, so I never bothered with the 2 sequels.
Porkchop II: Rise of the Rind (2011)
Porkchop 3D (2012)
Pig Girl (2014)
Watched Porkchop (2010), didn't like it, watched another movie by the director titled Zombie Babies, it was horrendous, think that's all I want to see by him.
The 2 sequels to Caesar and Otto's Summer Camp Massacre
Caesar and Otto's Deadly Xmas and Caesar and Otto's Paranormal Halloween, I enjoyed the first one for silly mindless fun, but I started watching Deadly Xmas, it was so badly done I shut it off 15 mins in.
Screaming for Sanity: Truth or Dare 3 (1998)
Deadly Dares: Truth or Dare Part IV (2011)
I Dared You! Truth or Dare Part 5
Truth Or Dare: A Critical Madness is one of my favorite 80's shot-on-video films, also watched part 2 aka Wicked Games, but never watched the others, and there is a 5th in the works.
And the rest...
The Grudge (American remake) sequels
The Ring (American remake) sequels
Vacancy 2 (though I liked the first)
Anaconda sequels
Boogeyman (2005) sequels
Gingerdead Man sequels
Gutterballs 2: Balls Deep (enjoyed the first, just haven't gotten around to this one)
Lake Placid sequels (love the first)
Return to House on Haunted Hill
Cold Prey III (Love the first 2, just haven't seen this one yet)
Pumpkinhead 3 and 4
30 Days of Night: Dark Days
Fright Night 2 (2013)
Underworld sequels

JamesG 10-14-2020, 06:13 PM AMC-on-Demand had a few of the Children of the Corn sequels, so I watched one each night for the past few days. They didn't have the original, but I've seen that one many times.
Children of the Corn (1984)
Children of the Corn II: The Final Sacrifice (1993)
Children of the Corn III: Urban Harvest (1995)
Children of the Corn IV: The Gathering (1996)
Children of the Corn V: Fields of Terror (1998)
Children of the Corn 666: Isaac's Return (1999)
Children of the Corn: Revelation (2001)
Children of the Corn: Genesis (2011)
Children of the Corn: Runaway (2018)
Children of the Corn (2020)
Part IV was only available on AMC Premiere, which I don't have, and they didn't have the more recent Genesis and Runaway.
With the exception of Isaac's Return, the direct-to-video sequels pretty much act as stand-alone entries. The kids get less creepy in each sequel and it seemed they just gathered whatever local kids they had around the time of filming.
The kid from Urban Harvest was great, Adam Wylie in Part V sucked.

I will say the Terrifier films contain some of the best practical gore effects I've seen. The writer/director did all of the special effects up to part 3.
But as much as I enjoy the gore scenes, if they did a movie with just Art being annoying around people I'd be entertained. Some of the best scenes for me is Art doing just that, credit to the actor who can be so funny without uttering a word.
