Or by the time that the '80s settled in, glamorous and glossy to a point that the show no longer had a realistic feel to it? It was decidedly more realistic in the beginning because their everyday dress was ordinary, and the furniture ordinary. Many shows of the '70s featured working class families struggling to get by. Besides, ODAAT, there was Alice, All in the Family, and Good Times.

In fairness, in the beginning, Ann was starting over with the girls and barely scraping by. So it can't be that far-fetched to believe that by the end of the series, she would be pretty well-off.

The show was not the same once the 80s rolled around. I am glad to see how Ann carved out a career with no job skills and successfully ran her own business. They made Bonnie looked more prettier and not have that plain Jane housewife look she had the first two seasons.
