I am from Chandra's hometown of Modesto, Ca. and I can say that the mood here is very sad. My family and I were shocked to learn of yesterday's developments...and although, we as a community, felt that this would be the outcome...you can never really prepare yourself for something like this.
My nephew attended high school with her and her father was someone we saw on occasion when my sister was in the hospital. So it has had quite an impact on our city.
I have already heard talk of plans to build a playground or small park in her memory. I think this is a beautiful idea if it comes to fruition.
