Did you ride any of their roller coasters? Five of them (Thunderhead, Wild Eagle, Mystery Mine, Firechaser Express and the best of the bunch, Lightning Rod are in my top ten lists.

I'm way too chicken to ride coasters but the Firechaser Express does look fun and it's sort of mild so I might ride it next time I go.

I do like Blazing Fury. Not sure if you've rode it or not. It's an indoor coaster.

When I go, I usually plan the visit around the shows they offer, which are really top notch. I'm going back in April to see Pam Tillis.

In 2019 there will be a 5-acre expansion behind Thunderhead! Can't wait for that!

I’m glad you had a great time! I’d love to meet her myself. She’s sooo talented, smart, witty and, at times utterly outrageous. I just love her!

Blazing Fury is their easiest coaster. Firechaser Express made it to no. 4 on my top ten steel non-looping under 100' tall list. The only rides ahead of it are Bobsleds at Seabreeze Park in New York (no. 3), Matterhorn Bobsleds at Disneyland in California (No.2) and my all time favorite in this category Space Mountain at Disney Magic Kingdom in Florida.

PS, On my first visit to Dollywood in 1988 I got to see Tammy Wynette in concert. Waiting in line to enter the audition I had a good laugh, Two kids were in front of me both kids had t-shirts of their favorite heavy metal groups. I just wonder what they were thinking as they were waiting. :rotflmao:

No but I was the closest I've ever been before...about 5 feet away.

That's cool! I'm not a country fan, but I loved Dolly's performance in the movie 9 To 5.

Going to Dollywood this Saturday! Dolly is scheduled to be in the park this weekend but nothing is set in stone as to what she's doing. It's supposed to be rainy so she probably won't do a parade...rain and wigs don't mix lol. Hopefully she'll pop in at a few shows the day I'm there!

Seeing Tanya Tucker Friday night...busy weekend!

Dolly was in the park on May 5th but she did her parade at 2pm, when we were in a show so we missed her this time. :(

...maybe next time! :)

By the way, the "My People, My Music" show featuring her family members is really good! I really like Heidi Parton!

^LOL!

There's always next time. She'll probably be there again in August. Luckily, I only live 3 hours away.

Maybe Dolly will be there on May 27th. I'm going to see Rhonda Vincent!

Besides Dolly and Tanya, have you seen any other country artists?

George Jones (just a couple months before he died), Pam Tillis, Bill Anderson, Connie Smith, Little Jimmy Dickens, Conway Twitty, Ty Herndon, The Kinleys.

Seeing Lorrie Morgan in October. And, Pam Tills again in October.

There may be a couple more that I can't remember.

Slight schedule change...I'm going on May 26th instead of the 27th to see Rhonda Vincent at Dollywood. While I'm there I plan to ride my favorite ride Blazing Fury. I may also get up the nerve to ride FireChaser Express...it doesn't look too bad.

This will be my first solo trip to Dollywood but even if you're alone the people there are so friendly you don't feel alone. I just dread the 3 hour trip going and the 3 hour trip coming home.
